IIRC they are attached by special two sided tape (body shop item) into pre-drilled tiny alignment holes.

depends which one?

grill emblem- not sure but it think its puch nuts on the back of the studs.

side emblems- taught fishing line to 'saw through the tape. goo gone the tape off. but you have those aligment holes to deal with.

the holes dont bother me someday i plan on putting on the International badges in place of the PSD ones

There aren't any holes behind the powerstroke badges, but the rest of the emblems have 'em.
