What is the point of a lope idle?

this is just my opinion, and i dont mean to offend anyone........

LOPE IDLE IS STUPID. if you absolutely must have a crappy idle, build an engine that idles that way on its own because of the insane cam and ignition timing, and dont expect to get power until 4000rpms.

It is to make the motor Lope, at idle... Kinda fun at drive thru's and at Jiffy lube.

That's true, never thoguht about that. Although, so does the 4 inches of exhaust pipe right in their face at a stop light and then the smoke when I mash it.
