Installing EGT gauge. Which way is better? I have the option to drill and tap or to use the clamp on method. Thanks for your input

I drilled my drivers side manifold. It is easy and should be no sweat. Then I tapped the manifold and used screw in components.

I drilled my driver side manifold (with the truck running) and tapped it. Tap and clamp might not hurt. But mine has been in there for the past 4 months with no issues

has anyone ever put one in where the ebps tube goes in? just an idea...

You would not get a true reading, the temp would be for the front cylinder only, not the complete bank of cylinders.
