A loose chip will definately cause the problems you have. I've got mine fastened on there with duct tape, and it has not moved. The chip sits on the pcm, and then i put the housing on, then duct taped the crap out of it.

Well Fellas, glad to report that the big white mule has not missed a lick since finding the programmer loose in the PCM last week. Drove it to work all weekend and had no problems or symptoms at all. Sure glad that it was something that was an easy fix. Probably will put the 'chip' back in place tomorrow (with better tape this time) and see how it goes. Boy, it aint no fun driving without the extra HP from the programmer. It definitely makes a difference. 

My 99 it will be running down the road shuts of sometime but starts right back up it has no chips could it be the computer
