Hello all,

I am a newbie here and I have searched the forum up and down for info. I am trying to wire a light bar with a purchased harness with a relay. The relay has a power wire, ground and a white wire. I found the 4 wires for the upfitter under the hood and under the steering column. I usually not so ignorant to wiring although I am missing something here.

Please help me out if you can.

The wires aren’t hooked to anything on either end, they’re just a convenient set of wires pre-ran through the firewall. You’ll hook your external positive wire to one of the wires (whichever color you want) under the hood, then run that same color wire your found under the dash to whichever upfitter switch you prefer. I found it extremely confusing as well, I just happen to be lucky that my best friend works at Ford, and one of the firefighters on my Dept is an automotive electrical guru.
Hope this helps, have a great day and God bless

Thank you! That makes better sense. I got tired of messing with it and just ran a switch wire through the firewall an done deal. I appreciate your help. Be safe!

Keep in mind that they are fused separately! Each switch has it's own amperage value !
If memory serves, there is a 20a,(2) 15a, and a 10a.

Do an internet search for upfitter switch wiring diagram
