Have a 17 I read in the manual there is a option to have one your up lifter switches to keep your engine idle up. when its cold ? they use to be on the cruise control so you could raise your rpm up . when idling. does any one have that option on there's. ford dealer here never heard of that. I would love to have that.

I read something about doing that on my generation. Had to do with tapping a couple wires under the dash. But it was for raising the idle for running a PTO. I imagine Ford has the cold idle rpm worked out already.

there are 5 wires for the upfitter switches, some are under the dash, others are located under the hood right by the firewall and break booster, as for the high idle wires, they were under the dash on the left side somewhere by the emergency brake pedal . the ones that i have delt with just require grounding one of the wires, there are 4 or 5 of them, depending on which one you ground sets the different high RPM levels.... if your is a grounding one then you'd have to install a relay in one of your upfitter wires because the are HOT 12 volts when turned on.

You think Ford would have set that up to begin with.

ford used to make a module that just plugged into the system under the dash, i have one in m 2003, they discontinued it is 2004 and only provide the wires now, the sales of the modules dropped off when the price for them went from 250 to 700 dollars so they just quit making them.
