I posted this in the diesel group. I have a gas V10. Sorry.

I'm the brand new owner to a 2000 F-250 7.3L V10 Long bed Crew Cab. I bought it to pul my 8,750 pound fifth wheel (max weight 10,000 lbs). I need to buy two rear tires for it. It has 295/76R16's on it. Is all that necessary? What size should I get?

As former tire guy myself, I believe that you may have fat fingered the size you put down. The size you have if I'm not mistaken is 285/75R16. This size tire will work fine for your application. However, I would recommend that you go to or stay with a minimum of an 8 ply tire.

295/75R16 BFG's on my 2000 F250 diesel. They usually don't keep them in stock and have to order them. Been using them since the truck was new. Discount Tire stopped putting them on the stock rims and I had to get 1" wider rims.
