Question Fuel gauge stuck on 99
Got it fixed, again! Sorry I didn't take pics I was in a hurry. The float arm is clipped to a piece of plastic that has 2 copper contact tabs. One tab slides on a metal bracket (ground, pink wire) and the other slides on the circiut board for the sender (yellow/white wire). The float arm had...- beau2301

Question Fuel gauge stuck on 99
Well, not so fast! I tested the sender before I put the tank back and all was good but when every thing was back in the gauge was still on full again! When I ground the yellow wire the gauge goes to empty so I know the gauge cluster is good, and the wiring is good. Not sure if the wire broke...- beau2301

Found the prob. The yellow wire was broke off from the sender in the tank. By the way, unplugging the connector at the tank is not a good test as it will make the gauge read full because the sender works off resistance so an open makes the gauge think it's full. My fuel gauge is stuck on full on my truck. The float isn't stuck cuz I unplugged the wire at the tank an still reads full. Tried smacking the dash and nothin.
