Does he have a pyrometer and boost gauge? If not he might consider getting them. Both EGT's and boost are the result of adding more fuel. The lower you can keep the numbers the better the mileage will be.
That's right, so a break in the wire would cause the gauge to read past full.
Pin # 5 on the fuel selector valve is a yellow wire with a white tracer, check it for continuity between the valve and the gauge.

You can get the mount from Ford for less than $40 but the u-bolt and nuts are not included. The right and left sides mount the shock at a different angle so make sure they give you the right one.
