    Abs pita

Guys.. I work in northern alberta. We run a fleet of strictly superdutys, and we are running into one big problem. We are constantly having trouble with the abs systems in these trucks, specifically wiring. All of the gravel we run on chews up sensors and wiring like nobodys bussiness. Has...

Passing up on Ford b/c of body removal???

If ford took design cues from some very good diesel designs they would'nt have built another v-8. As far as I am concerned a v-8 diesel is a boat anchor. Nothing has bottom end grunt and torque like an inline six. My 2 cents, but I do not like the v-8 design. I bought a diesel for low end...

    smell of burning rubber?

Had the same trouble, I mis-diagnosed the smell. It was a leaky axle seal dumping gear oil onto my brakes. Brake discs got hot, oil burned and stunk like burning rubber. Worth a try.

    PSD with the easy life

I have to give you credit for having a truck with that kind of mileage on it. We have never had a truck last much longer than 250,000kms. It seems that after that these trucks literally seem to fall apart. We run into injector troubles, broken leaf springs, transmissions and transfer cases...

    PSD with the easy life

I have got to disagree. We run a fleet of 10-15 fords, and it does not matter. We are in northern alberta, so we see everything from -40c to +30c. Some of the trucks are excellent, some are turds. It all comes down to who is driving and caring for the truck, as well as the truck itself. We have...

    Question Brake spongey

I am onside with the caliper pins, we have a ton of trouble with them. The pins are out in the open, and it seems that as soon as the truck spends some time on gravel the seals get trashed and the pins seize. Easy fix, you can buy the pin and seal kit direct from ford. On my trucks i have used...

    holy smokes !!!

One missing... White smoke--- Coolant entering the combustion chamber, somewhat common on head gasket and head failures. Black smoke, as mentioned, is fuel that is not burning completely. Some think it looks cool, to me it is a waste of money. Blue usually indicates oil burning, but i...

    U-bolts

Just in the process of reinstalling a rear diff housing in a 2005 350 Drw. I had to have new u bolts made up, as the originals were seized up. The u bolts i had made are 1/2 material instead of 5/8 material. Will this be strong enough, or should i order a new set? I cant use ford u-bolts because...

    Rear brake line damage

Guys, i am in the process of r+ring a rear diff, and i twisted the end off of the brake line that runs from the master cylinder all the way back to the crossmember above the rear diff. Is it possible to splice this in any way? The dealership wants 588 bucks for this line. Any ideas?

    Hole in rear Diff.

No oil at all, one of the dumb-dumbs that works for us didnt notice that he had hit the rock, made 50+ clicks before he noticed the noise. We are looking for a used one right now.
