Ok Guys, been awile since I posted. Lets see if we can get this thing fixed. I have an '05 F250 CC, FX4, LWB. I have a JEGS 4" turbo back exhaust (stock CAT still installed). I have an AFE cold air intake and a Super Chips tuner (Not currently in use). Only when towing, I start running hot (not...
The ScanGauge verified that the instrument cluster is accurate. 90% of the time the temp would run up to 216-224 then aux fan would kick in and drive it back down to about 195. The other 10% of the time, the fan will come on and the temp continues to climb. The highest I saw this trip was 236...
I have a superchip tuner and it gets me about another 2 mpg's in my '05 6.0. Also have the 4" turbo back and AFE intake. I tow a 35' travel trailer, about 9k lbs empty. I get around 13-14 towing. I traveled from St. louis to Brunswick Ga to Mt. Airy North Carolina and back to STL last...
His current tire size is only one size larger than factory. It probably increased his mpg numbers a little. I do know he drives sensible (coasts hills, steady take offs, etc...) I was still wondering if there is a programmer out here that would help with a few more mpg's? I figured someone has...
I would say bad connection also if the Batteries are good. It does sound like a voltage problem though. A '92 ford I used to have had a glove box light that stayed on and would drain the battery after about 5 days if the truck wasn't driven. It took me several batteries and lots of headaches to...
Ok guys, I need some suggestions here. My Dad has a '97 250 PSD Heavy duty 4x4 SC LWB. He has around 176K miles on it. He was going to trade for a Ranger to save fuel $$$. I talked him out of it. His truck is in great shape and has been maintained reguraly. I already told him to go back to...
I got the ScangaugeII in the mail yesterday. It was hooked up and working in minutes. So far I think it is great. I will be towing my camper next week and am curious to see if there really is a difference in readings between the Scangauge and the dash guage. I will let you all know.
Ok guys, I want to tap your experience again. My truck is an '05 250 superduty FX4 crew LWB. I am wanting a little more ground clearance without spending big $$. What are your thoughts on a leveling kit (procomp??) and say 305 or 315 tires on the stock 17" wheels? Whats the best route? I don't...
Definately check your batteries before you go. I thought I had a gelling problem once but turned out to be weak batteries. If you bought your truck in Arizona, you may not have the block heater harness. If not, you can get one and install it fairly easy.
The dealer called. It is the issue with the TSB concerning the instrument cluster. The engine parameter all check out on the computer. It is just giving a false indication. Bad news is 630.00 or so to fix it. I think I will look into an after market temp gauge or other options.
Talked to the dealer yesterday, the Mechanic had one more to finish before he started on mine (they only have one diesel mech). Told the Service Manager about the TSB and my truck falls in the production window. Will keep you posted. Hope to hear something this evening on it.
I appreciate the info. I printed your post and will call the dealer this afternoon. I will post more after I talk to them. Thanks again. Interesting piece of info.
John
It has us all baffled. The truck has always and is running and pulling fine. Just have this temp issue all of sudden at 98k miles. I hope to hear from or call the shop tomorrow and see if they found out anything from FORD.
