    i am helping a friend on his 96 178,000 mi.,auto no power when you push the pedal. thought the turbo might be the problem. dtc showed no codes, when truck gets up to speed, passing another vehicle should only be done on a long stretch of highway. thank you for the help. :dunno

    its an 97 ,the reason i ask is some sites state 97 was a change to the 4r/100. the person i am working with i think someone had to tell him( its a truck)

    This being my fist post i would like to thank you all for the info in the post. It has helped me keep my obs (last of the real trucks) on the road/offroad. so today after playing in the mud the od light started blinking and would not shift into od, made home checked dtc ,showed p1728 knew it...
