    This is one of the classic signs of a bad IP. Here is a test, when it does this to you again, go and pour around 12 ounces of luke warm water on the IP, if it starts, then you are 100% sure you need a new IP or rebuild that IP.

The problem is that you have to have the two sensors in the pipe, if you just get rid of the dpf and dont use the correct dpf delete pipe, then the sensors wont be in it, and the truck will throw codes.
