What could cause intermittent boost lose?

My neighbor has an 05 F250 6.0L auto and is on a trip with his 26' trailer. He called me with an intermittent boost lose when he has his foot in it going up a hill. When he doesn't have his foot in it, everything appears to be fine. It's not blowing black smoke either. He pulled to the...

Drivers side front axle seal leaking,,, again, again, again.... Ideas???

This should be pretty basic but it's got me scatching my head. I've replaced / had replaced this axle seal 3 times. It doesn't leak right away, usually I get about 5k miles, then it starts seeping again. I've used Ford brand seals the last 2 times and a NAPA seal the first. Mic' ed the axle...

    Hub question??

I just got the Warn Premium hubs today. I'll put it up on stands this weekend and play with the OE's and see what's up.

    Hub question??

The markings on the hub are not readable. Hence me looking in the manual. I'll get the Warn hubs coming, that should solve both problems. Just frustrated with the manual, I drove almost 300 miles with them in. Now I'll probably need to watch the axle seals for leaks.

    Hub question??

This is embarassing, but when I turn my hubs from "lock" to "free", I turn them to the left (counter clockwise), but my ford owners manual says they should turn right (clockwise). I jacked it up to verify because one of the was sticking locked. Your thoughts? Oh, and I am looking at...

    02 Eng cooling sys questions

Well, my radiator swap did the trick. I did another test run on the same route, though alittle cooler ambient temp but with very positive results. The fan clutch came in as it should and the coolant temp never got above 215, PROBLEM SOLVED!!! Yea Ha!! I obviously didn't do a good job of...

    02 Eng cooling sys questions

Dave, I checked for fluid leaks and nothing so far except the loss from the coolant recovery tank I mentioned. Dpantazis, yes I do have a trans temp gauge and it seems to be registering an appropriate lower temp than the coolant even while towing. And yes I did replace the thermostat. The...

    02 Eng cooling sys questions

Well, on the way out of Bishop, going up the Sherwin grade with Toybox in tow, we hit 250 and blew abouit 1 1/2 qts. of coolant out the radiator cap or in this case the coolant recovery tank. Didn't appear to do any other damage. Made it home (closely watching gauges). I hate these types of...

    02 Eng cooling sys questions

My 02 7.3L seems to be doing a couple weird things. Over Memorial Day weekend, we made as trip up north on the 5 and when we came back south over the Grapevine my coolant temp gauge went up just a hair short of the red and the fan clutch didn't appear to kick in. I changed the fan clutch and...

Help finding "X" springs for F350?

I'm hoping someone can help me find "X" code front springs for my 02 F350. I've called the 2 nearest Ford dealers and spoken to 3 different parts people and they all tell me I must have the VIN for a truck with these X code springs for them to even look them up. If I owned a truck with these x...
