I recently purchased a 2005 super duty with the 6.0. I have heard about the egr cooler problems that are commonly associated with these trucks, therefore, I had the egr deleted.
Other than the EGR delete and a 4" turbo back exhaust system, the truck is stock. I do not tow anything and do not...
I have now been to two separate shops, and they both tell me there are no codes showing, and the transmissions operates properly for them...go figure.
I do not know if this could be what causes the slip, but the mechanic told me today the transmission was four (4) quarts low on transmission...
No Tuner. No aftermarket temp gauge. I stopped by the transmission shop today. They think it is a cracked piston. Guess I will find out next week when I drop it off!
I have a 2005 F-250 4x4 with the 6.0. When the truck is cold, the truck runs great. However, after I take a trip on the interstate (20 miles or more), the transmission slips between 3rd and 4th gear under light accelertation. Has anybody experienced a similar problem? Hopefully I just need a...
I guess it could be any number of things...Ill find out tommorrow when I drop it off...
It is quite possible the thing was fried when I bought the truck. I am hoping for the best, but expecting the worst...If a rebuild is needed, I will upgrade it so I can really turn up the wick! Ill try to...
Just changed the fluid...same symptoms...I am thinking it is something internal. I hear a rattle coming from the transmission while my foot is on the brake and the truck is in drive. Maybe the torque convertor? I think this is going to be expensive!
It was serviced not too long ago, and the fluid is where it should be. I don't remember the grade of fluid, but it is Amsoil and the service was done by a powerstorke specialist.
These symptoms are fairly new which leads me to believe it is an internal problem.
