    Starting Issues

Not sure what kind of space is down there. Try using jumper cables direct to the starter. If you can access the + post without grounding out? That would tell you if the actual motor is shot. But not the solenoid. Good Luck.

    Front hub question...

Thanks guys! I'll be cleaning them this week & dealing with my vacuum problem after figuring our if I can save them. Tinkering with them for a couple minutes today, i noticed the dials move far too easily. They used to be a PITA and now they are super easy. I'm thinking the last time I used 4x4...

    Help Needed Fuse?

I'm not seeing dome or interior lights in my manual. Is there something else not working that it might be listed under?

    Front hub question...

My hubs are the auto/lock type. I have the symptom where going to 4x4 sends the HVAC to defrost. I understand that means a vacuum leak. But my other issue is this: when the hubs are set to auto (no vacuum applied) shouldn't the front half shafts NOT spin? Mine DO spin on auto and appear to be...

    200,000 mile ESP?

I have the 7/200 on my 06. Since I broke 100k I think it's been a wash cost wise. 1800 for warranty and 1850 in repairs. Truck currently has 180k and will break 200K by June. If something major is going to fail, I just hope it happens before 200.

    Battery / Alternator issues....

Thanks, That was the first thing I did. My 2 digitals and a friends old school meter all had similar results. I've had trouble keeping batteries in this truck since new. Maybe this was my problem all along. I was just lucky enough to catch it in the act this time. Every other time I've tested...

    Battery / Alternator issues....

I already ordered new everything. Here's the story anyway. My batteries have been dead in the AM a few times recently. Not having to work today I put them on a slow charge all day. After the charger said "full" I checked the voltage and found the following. No load, nothing on voltage...

    Do you clean your engine?

Yep, Blast mine with some green foam substance at the self serve car wash. I'm never really careful about spraying anything under the hood. If something "MUST" stay dry its going to be protected by design @ Ford. Usually just do it a couple times a year. More if it's going to in for service...

Do Power brakes get their "power" from....

Does it mean I'm losing my mind if... I had no clue i already asked this question a while back? I'm only 40, this shouldn't happen yet!!! http://www.superdutydiesel.com/forums/general-super-duty-discussion/26358-steering-brakes-went-out-moment.html Anyone feel free to slap me if I do that...

Do Power brakes get their "power" from....

the power steering??? I've had a few problems recently where both go out at the same time. Usually just for 1 stop/turn and then everything goes back to normal. Fluid level is fine. Belt is still there. Any ideas?

    bed plate oil leak

I had it done on my 03 and 06. No big deal for the right tech. I don't think my dealer does cab off work though, they just pull everything out the front. It must be overwhelming to see all that laid out on the shop floor. Probably better if you didn't watch them do it to your baby. But I...

Steering and brakes went out for a moment.

On a long trip last week I had the power part of my steering and brakes go out at the same time. It happened twice and then everything seemed fine. Anyone know if the 2 systems are powered by the same pump? Any ideas?

    Look what I had done....

UPDATE... for anyone interested. My lineX is not so purdy anymore. It's still doing it's job protecting from stone chips and damage. But I've lost about 50-60% of my color. :(:(:( Line-X pics :(:(:(

Wear & tear from short trips

Want it to last? Don't let the quicky lube place touch it. Lots of dealers have fast lane oil changes if you don't want to do it yourself. Might cost a bit more, but you know the filters are correct.

    Abs pita

Try running some wire loom over the problem areas. That should at least make it take longer for gravel to kill the wiring.
