Remove the doubt about what is the right 6.0 filters:

Well if they are gonna try that.. then they HAVE to provide me the motorcraft filters at no cost. same with the oil and coolant and trans fluid. I could be game for that. :lmao

Remove the doubt about what is the right 6.0 filters:

I guess the point to be taken from this thread is: The video was put out by Ford/Motorcraft to warn people about buying other than Motorcraft filters. Is the motive: 1.) What is in the best interest of the customer? or 2.) What makes Ford/Motorcraft more money? I have my...

Remove the doubt about what is the right 6.0 filters:

None of my filters are motorcraft... they are all from international since they are usually less than HALF the price of the Motorcraft ones.... I do ocassionaly buy Motorcraft oilfilters from Walmart when they have them. Should I be worried since I'm buying filters from the people that...

    I test drove .......

Wow... you are seeing low. Best I have seen out of min was a gnat's behind under 20 on the highway. I typically see between 15 and 16 with a 60/40 highway/city mix. Of course you're truck is a 4x4 and mine is not.

    She whistles at me!

VGT sensor or EBP sensor going south??? I've had two EBP sensors, but those usually will make the turbo spool up then drop off when they go bad. MY VGT sensor just made the truck run like crap. Idled horrible and would belch black smoke periodically.

    1/4 mile time for stock 2003 supercab 4x4 6.0

Pickuptruck.com did a test on the 2003 6.0 PSD. 2003 Western Diesel PickupTruck.com Diesel They listed the 1/4 mile time as 16.82 @ 82.57 mph. I don't think they launched in 4wd though. On Edit: From the article: Odd thing is the list the curb weight as 7250lbs. My 4x2...

    Lifts+Mpg=???

Is that per overhead console or hand calculated? I find that VERY hard to believe. My truck is a stock 4x2 and I get about that Highway and I get 16.5 with a 60/40 mix of city/highway. If you are hand calculating, are you filling until you see fuel in the neck? I know that before I started...

    How Loud???

Difference is, the Excursion is a Big Echo Chamber where I have a truck bed. I know that my Jeep Wrangler had the same muffler as my Dad's Cherokee had. My Wrangler wasn't all that bad, but my Dad's Cherokee would drive you nuts. I guess I should go for a ride in a Stock Excursion to hear...

    How Loud???

Exhaust is bone stock. I was thinking Walker BTM, but if the I can delete the muffler and it doesn't get obnoxious then :thumbs. I'm sure a length of 3.5" pipe is cheaper that a Walker BTM.

    How Loud???

How loud does the truck get if you just put a pipe in place of the Muffler? The Cat will stay. I need to keep the truck respectable as it is my daily and my RV tow vehicle. That and I don't want to hear the wife get upset with me about noise.

    changing/draining fuel filter

If you want to keep the mess down you can use the method I have used a couple times now. I wrote it up as one of my first posts over on oilburners: No Mess Horizontal Fuel filter change
