Question What's on the right front that doesn't like to get wet?

Nope, hood closed both times. Never "washed" my motor, but based on my "unscientific" approach of opening the hood within 30 seconds of the truck dieing I can tell you that the water was isolated to the right front of the engine bay, primarily on the inner fender. Its interesting all...

Question What's on the right front that doesn't like to get wet?

I'm not assuming that, I know that for a fact. Both times the only place under the hood where there was any water was the passenger side of the engine compartment, and mostly the fender well. Anyone else have any ideas?

Question What's on the right front that doesn't like to get wet?

I've noticed a relay of some sort, and another electrical gizmo over there but I dont have a clue what they are. The alternator is over on the drivers side, so I'm pretty sure thats not the culprit. I guess I'm just going to have to dig into it and see what happens.

Question What's on the right front that doesn't like to get wet?

Yeah, those two are on the driver's side. All I see is the little electric vacuum pump and the reservoir for it on the passenger side. I'm totally stumped on this one.

Question What's on the right front that doesn't like to get wet?

Twice now my 2001 F350 has died due to a large amount of water on the right front. Once when running thru a puddle, and once at the car wash when the attendant sprayed the right front corner. Both times leaving the truck sit for an hour or so solved the problem. Is there something on the...

    2001 7.3 Down - HPOP?

I don't really know. I'm now getting the oil pressure gauge to move while it cranks (it was a little over two quarts low) but it still won't fire up. Can the HPOP lose its prime, or am I still barking up the wrong tree here?

    2001 7.3 Down - HPOP?

The '01 350 is down again. Started it last night (cold) about 2 hours after it last ran. Rough idle, falls flat on its face with any throttle - it really wont even get out of its own way. Got it into my shop, but just cranks and wont fire. No movement on the Oil pressure gauge during...

The older I get the more I realize that electricity seldom follows its own "rules". I cant tell you how many hours I've lost trouble shooting a problem that turns out to be a phantom electrical issue. Thanks again for the help guys.

In my line of work I encounter a lot of machinery that uses magnetic proximity switches. Usually when they go, they go all at once. They don't go "bad" over time. Interesting that this one does. Seems to be fine now though. Thanks again.

Interesting note. Got to the shop this morning and just for laughs I hopped in the truck to see if it would start. Sure enough, it fired right up. Ran for 5 minutes again, and died. Long story short, I replaced the CPS and ran it around the industrial park for 30 minutes with no issues...

You wouldn't happen to have a part number for this "new" CPS, would ya?

Thanks guys. I guess I'll be calling the dealership in the morning to see if they have them in stock.

Plenty of fuel in the bowl. As a side note, make sure you close the drain valve BEFORE you turn the key on. The tach isn't moving when I crank it over so it may be a CPS. Batteries are good, oil level (on the dipstick) is fine. I'll take a look at the wiki and see what I can learn...
