Cool, thanks Dave. If I remember right it has an o ring on it. I have a bunch of brass fittings and I can probably just put some teflon tape on one of them. Have searched and searched online for one from one of these diesel aftermarket suppliers to no avail. Have heard about the plugs for...
Yep, no ground whatsoever on my rear axle. Stuck that test light all over it. Ran one up from axle to frame. All is good now. Never would have thought though.
Got a good one for you. Early 99 Superduty. Installed a differential temp gauge in truck awhile back and it would only work now and then when the truck was driven in the rain. Got under it to check it out and I had no ground on the rear end! Now with all those parts tying it to the frame I...
How do I accomplish this? Ports I know of are 1/8 I believe and mechanical oil temp is much larger than this. Somebody help me out that has done this? Thanks. Also, anyone know who sells the adapter plugs for the zf6 speed manual for trans temp sending unit? Cannot find them but I have read...
TS six position chip, 4 inch turbo back exhaust, cold air intake, fuel pressure shim, wastegate actuator, idm mod. No trouble codes or anything present. I'll get it figured out eventually. Just seems odd for all of the sudden the turbo to start surging like it is. Still producing 28 lbs of...
Yes, intercooler boots original and in good condition. No leaks there. HPOP also original. Fuel filter changed about 6000 miles ago. Also been up on maintenance on truck. Don't plan on ever buying a replacement truck. The turbo does sound different the last two times out. Will check the...
Have an early 99 superduty and while towing the last two times I have noticed that the turbo sounds different. Still making the same boost levels, however, not smooth like it used to be. I believe I am hearing it surge. It almost hurts my ears when it does it. Truck used 90% for towing and...
This has happened to me and soon discovered water leak into the cab when it would rain. Check to see if you are getting any water inside the cab. Usually gets in the fuse box and all kinds of weird things happen.
Drew, where exactly was the water entering on the outer a pillar? Want to make sure I check it out as well. Are there some sort of holes or passages behind the rubber door edge running down the pillar?
Think I found it. My cab lights were full of condensation so I sealed them up. Also, there is a work order fix the ford has for this common problem on these trucks. The top of the cab has two thick caulk lines were the cab is seamed together. After reading the work order from Ford, I came...
No leak between the door and seal. I put water to this thing all over the windshield and cab and found no water in the cab. Has me stumped. No chrome around window, just a rubber seal and I sprayed and sprayed and sprayed it from all angles. Will let you know when I do figure it out. Thank...
