    Sounds like it might have a light tune on it right now. Did the previous owner mention anything about having a programmer in it? You should get ahold of them to get the programmer or tell him to take the program out of your truck you just bought off of him, if he still wants his programmer...

    These all sound like very ford bias opinions. I had a power stroke a few years back and made the switch to a Cummins. Granted i did prefer the interior of my 03 PS to my 06 Ram, it was the engine that made me go that route. You just can't beat an inline 6 for pulling power and fuel economy...

    5w-40 is the best!!

    If you you think the 5w40 is good, you should try a 0w40. It makes the 5 look like molasses in the extreme cold weather. It's what I run in my big rigs in the winter.

    I never minded the way my 99 shifted, it always seemed fairly smooth but we didn't have it to long (cut off by a school bus and T-boned it). 520 ft lbs eh? I wonder how that compares with a G56, probably is pretty close i would imagine if they are using them in newer fords. I do know however...

    Ok, so it's not the Exhaust Back Pressure Valve. Check the tranny fluid and see what it looks like. You may have to drop the pan and look inside of the pan. If there is alot of foreign material or metal shavings then there is a good chance it is your tranny.

    Or you can just unplug the EBPV sensor, that will stop it from working too. It is located just above your water pump behind the belt pulley( really easy to see). There will be 2 plugs there and it is the one on the passengers side of the motor. I did that with my dads old truck cause the EBPV...

    Do you have any gauges in the truck? Your code reader won't tell you anything if there are mechanical parts failing tho. But was your engine light coming on at all? What does the tranny fluid look like?

    Cycle your key on and check your if fuel pump is running. If it is not you may have a shorted fuel heater element. Check for burnt fuses too. The heater element, glow plug light and fuel pump are all on the same fuse.

    Basically if you need to change all of the above then your still good. All you need to do is clean off all those parts off your motor and swap them over. Basically at least the block will work for you.

    If it is a 7.3L powerstroke it will fit just fine. I don't imagine they made the bell housing mounts any different for a bus. He already has it in a truck so it should go back in one. :sweet
