I got 27,000 miles out of my left side upper and lower and 60,000 miles out of my right side upper and lower ball joints. The truck does not have a lift, bigger tires, or a snow plow on it.

I haven't replaced mine yet after 50K, grease=longevity..... grease them about every 2500 miles and they will last. Ford does not believe in grease zerks and thats why the front ends fail so often, Moog makes a good joint and they have zerks too.

Yea when i first bought the truck i went to grease them and saw they were a sealed unit. I don't know why they don't come with grease fittings from the factory anymore???

I used to spend a good amount of time greasing my 1972 4 X 4 truck back when I bought it. Lotsa more grease fittings. Ford has done away with a lot of them. U-joints are not greaseable from the factory.

I got about 90k, and now have Moogs...just found out the zerk on the upper ball joint, driver side, has gone missing. Wonder what I hit! I cannot get my pinkies in there, looks like I gotta tear it apart.

Don't

You probably had a large 90 degree fitting in there and when the axle shaft came around if you truck is 4X4 then it took it off, i find grinding a 90 degree fitting down gives you enough clearance to run 4X4 and grease the uppers.
