7.3L vs gas motors

I would stay with a Diesel Myself, I went back to a 1/2 Ton Gas Truck and it did not take me long to realize that I miss having a Diesel. If you are looking for a Fuel Sipper, Check out the VW Jetta TDI Diesel, They claim 43 MPG with the New Ones and they are getting good reviews.

Guys, I don't care about MPG. I drive a SD and an 89 5.0. As long as it's closer to 20mpg than 10 I'm happy. I was just saying that I'm gonna buy a truck and would connsider better mpg when purchasing it. I don't need 4wd but I'd take one for the right price. Once I have it I'm not worried about it anymore.

The whole point was to get a nicer truck (less rust/more options) and the gassers and 2wd's were cheaper. But it sounds like the performance of the gassers would leave me wanting more, so I'm on the prowl for another 7.3L diesel truck.

Thanks a lot for your ideas though, you prolly saved me from buying something I would want to sell in 6 months.

Yea, there's really no reason to come here. We're always leaving the rust belt ourselves

Once yer in a diesel, you usually wont think about goin back to a gasser. I know I wont when it comes to towing. Now havin old hot rod trucks is a diff story!

Spot on.

I think it can be safely said.. If you need a 3/4 ton, or above, to do any work or towing~carrying at all.. a Dezel is the way to go. [In the long run].. it'll be worth every penny.

(Not to mention all the.... factors. )

Yep!! I've learned my lesson. I kick myself for not doin the diesel thing sooner. I guess I listened to my dad too much haha. Now just got to drop my 460 in my ole panel truck hehe

save the 460 for a 70 Torino body...

I was thinking, if you were selling, I might be in the market for another 7.3l..

I personally don't mind 2WD trucks.. and could easily see one dedicated as a trailer hauler around the 'stead...

I do like me a torino! Well a small cummins would be sweet no doubt about it. But.....I got plenty of 351's and 460's layin around. The one in my van is already a screamer and with it bored and stroked it will make that heavy panel truck brick move down the road. I definately need as much power as I can get. hehe
