    Hissing Sound From Manual Transmission

I'm gonna say it's the EBPV... It's normal, the PCM closes the EBPV (Exhaust BackPressure Valve) to aid in warming the truck up. The EBPV is located just after the turbo, it's what the downpipe is connected to. Some folks remove the butterfly valve to prevent this behavior (and gain more...

    clutches

I got the stock equiv from Valair. Great service, shiping, price, and product. Couldn't be happier. It's a SMFW. I don't have that much power, so I'm not sure how it'd handle it (but they've got lots stronger clutches than this too)..

    #7 injector removal

I just took mine off the other day, it's a 94.5 too and mine had those flanges. The bolts are running front-to back into them...

    Rotella vs Delo (15w40)

I had a blackstone report on both oils in my engine. The DELO performed better in my truck than Rotella. It reversed some of the wear metals I saw with Rotella. It is cheaper here, too. I'd recommend it highly.

    Question regulator

I think the only way to do it would be to machine a plug that would bolt to the regulator and stop fuel from going back where the FPR screen is. Never tried it, never seen it done, but I think it might work.

    Need Computer Advise

The ccApp error is referring to Norton Antivirus... Not really a problem, but yes, it's annoying. What version of Norton are you running? Depending on version, there's probably a fix for it.

    Need Computer Advise

That's my next trick...disabling "junk"... Click Start, Choose run type in "msconfig" Take a look first at the "startup" tab. uncheck all of the extra programs that you see here -- your easyshare will likely show up in here. On this tab, you're pretty safe in disabling whatever you want. Some...

    Need Computer Advise

Here's one... This increases the page file -- windows can use this as memory instead of hardware. It's not as fast as actual memory, but does seem to help quite a bit: Right-click on My Computer, choose properties There should be an advanced tab, click that. Click the button for Performance...

    Need Computer Advise

Like Tbar said, it really depends. If you need to hang on to your existing computer, depending on it's current state, I'd lean towards someone cleaning it out. It makes a world of difference, even with the same hardware configuration. I WOULD NOT call geek squad. Take it to a reputable...

    Plant drive kit install

Here's what i do... I've got two 55 gallon barrels sitting on drum stands. I fill those up, move them to the horizontal position. The 3/4 bung is off of the bottom by quite a bit. I let them sit this way for a long time -- at least several weeks, but most of the time a month or more. After...

    Fuel leak...

:dunno The arrow in your picture is pointing to a sensor (or the heater) on the regulator. I'm not sure which one it is, though.. Best bet is just replace the sensor (or connector for heater, whatever the case may be). I had my filter restriction sensor go out, it did the same thing...

    Help Needed PSD won't start

If you've got a stock fuel system, there are no pumps in the tanks. There is a fuel pump underneath the turbo (you can see if between the fuel filter housing and the turbo). Look in the valley of the engine, is it dry, or do you have a lot of moisture there? Yes, it's a good idea to fill the...

    Removing Window Regulator

I stuck my arm through the opening, and while pulling the regulator upwards, I pushed that rod to the inside and backwards. Had to keep holding it in while the regulator passed by it. Hard to do with just one hand. I could have removed the door handle assembly, but I didn't want to have to...

    Removing Window Regulator

HELP! Trying to remove my passenger rear window regulator. I've got the four rivets out. I removed the bolt that holds down something (a rod that goes up to the top of the door.....but when I try to pull the regulator out, it's connected to this rod somehow....what's the trick? :dunno:dizzy

    2000 7.3 down fuel/electrical issues

If you have a concern about fuel getting to the engine...check your filter to make sure it's full -- if it's not, since you've got an electric pump, cycle the key to run (not start) to make sure you're getting fuel up to the filter. Did you have a conversion to run on the oil, or were you...

Figured out why my gear rollover was so loud!!!!!

Since I've gotten my truck running again, I've gotten a chance to break in my Valair. Works really good. Very happy with it. I don't have rollover noise at idle, but I get a bit of a racket while slowing down around 800 - 1100 RPM. Of course, only time will tell on it's durability, but so...

    Need a battery

Most suggest Motorcraft. Shouldn't be that much....maybe around $100. I got the gold from Autozone (8 yr warranty). I had interstates before, they were pretty good. You should replace both batteries at the same time.

Help Needed What is this and how do I use it?

I think it's a pre-heater...Eberspacher is the brand. Here's the best I can do at the moment: Eberspächer UK - Support and Downloads http://www.eberspacher.com/downloads/technical-documents/401_instructions.pdf The second link has some operating instructions that, although it's for a...

    Question Fuel Pressure Gauge

You'd probably be alright leaving it...just be sure you've got something with you so if it DOES rupture, you're not stranded... Make sure you insulate the hose from abrasion..

    Question Fuel Pressure Gauge

Clamps are a few bucks. Assuming you don't have runaway pressure, you could use 30R9 hose (rated at 100PSI). It's less than $10.00 a foot....locally here it was about $7.50. You could also go to a hydraulic shop and have a hose made for you with hydraulic hose, it might be cheaper depending...

    whats this for?

Some folks have drilled and put that back into the intake tube...I'd just leave it zip-tied with the other sensor. Matter of preference. If you do put it back in the intake, you have some sort of indicator to replace the filter (but it's probably WAY past due by the time the light shows up...)

    whats this for?

If it's the long white skinny tube looking thing, I believe that's the sensor that measures air temp. You need it, but you can just zip tie it out of the way. Some people put it in a ziplock bag to keep it clean.

    Question Fuel Pressure Gauge

What I did was run a piece of grease-gun extension hose from the FPR to the gauge. I had to put an adapter on the hose to go to the 1/4 inch or whatever was on the gauge, can't remember what size it was, but that's how I did it..
