yes I've cleaned 2 and right now I'm 1:1, I lucked out on my truck that the local wrecking yard had a PSD and only knew the engine was work money all together but not prices for the individual components so I bought a fuel pressure regulator for $10. :innocent and to my benefit the block was...

    Torque Converter Nuts

no kidding, the trans shops around here won't sell you parts and I haven't discovered where a parts distributor is that will deal with the general public. I've been meaning to take pictures and post them you can see that the top of the nut is distorted into an oval to provide the gripping force...

    Torque Converter Nuts

well a bit of information for posterity they are 3/8 - 24 Stover or deformed thread flange nuts. Prior to posting this I forgot the simple rule of dealing with stealerships and that is when one doesn't give you the price you like you call another. The first one quoted me 5.43ea I'll pa...

    Sending unit ohms/volts & ground

Ford uses resistance for the fuel gauge not voltage. If memory serves me right I remember reading the range is 15-160 Ohms. are you checking voltage with the engine running or not? voltages change when the alternator is spinning.

Heres a thread at FDB covering how one man made his own custom fuel tank to better fill the space giving more fuel at the same time.

IPR's are easy to clean but also easy to mess up if you grab them too firmly with pliers the computer uses default table values when the ICP is disconnected it should be connected for better performance and economy.

    Injectors

hard starts are typically glow plug related I'd start with the glow plug relay. I'm thinking you should be cooling down a bit but looks like still in the 80's for high 60's for low which is on the brink of when you start to need the glow plugs for smoother starting. When you do get it started...

    Starter Motor

I've ordered things from a variety of online parts dealers and have had found good prices and products at RockAuto Auto Parts. the question will be shipping and what they charge to ship it. They are a fairly simple DC motor and more often than anything the relay/contactor on the starter...

    Torque Converter Nuts

So In replacing my cracked flex plate this weekend I managed to let the socket slip off of a couple nuts :innocent leaving them partially stripped enough that I could get them off but I'm not willing to put them back on. I need to figure out what the spec is on the nuts to get a replacement...

    Denver Smog test ????

If memory serves me right the emissions test on a diesel in the Denver area is only an opacity test, an expensive one but no sniffers, so mods and EGR deletes are still good to go however you just need to have a programmable setup so you can configure the setup to not smoke under the given test...

    Trailer Wiring for Towing Doubles

I would personally wire the GN such that you have the wiring for each trailer isolated so that problems with wiring in one does not impact the other. The electric brake controllers that we use really are not designed to handle multiple trailers with different braking demands. In some cases...

    Pedal (Throttle) Position Sensor malfunctions

Sounds like you've replaced the obvious, have you tried checking resistance across the PPS to see if there are any jumps as you move the pedal? For random problems that seem to fix themselves with you fiddling with stuff I find it best to monitor the sensors in question and attempt to recreate...

    Can't pull codes on 97 F350

the over 8500GVW OBDII is just different enough that the readers from autzone etc won't read them. Autoenginuity is what most on here are using though I'm using alex pepper's OBDII software on a stone age laptop (12+ Years old) Snap On's has some models that will work and it may be that for...

    Starter Options

Alliant is one of the OE suppliers for many of the components on our engines. They are going to be OE quality parts. Be careful judging the parts simply on the country of origin. Both good and bad come out of China the only way to know for sure is to do critical measurements of the internal...

    Flexplate replacement? Yes/No

looks like the "worst" are slightly more than 1/2 worn in that case I'd replace at least the ring gear. Now I'm sitting here trying to remember if the ring gear is removable on these flywheels. Well if you see that it's a pressed on fit then you can replace them. cut the old one off and heat the...

    97 F Superduty stops running

sounds like the ICP signal was lost when the engine got warm leaving you with classic IPR symptoms. While your lesson could have been cheaper not too bad considering that it would have been that alone for the PCM. Given the heat related issue the PCM is not likely since it is actually behind...
