    Other parts and repairs

I'm guessing you're planning on doing the repairs yourself. I'd recommend going ahead and replacing the rubber transmission mount, and the hanger bearing in your driveshaft while you're replacing the U-joints.

    250 shiftin issue

are you sure it's the 3-4 shift or is it the converter locking? the converter locking and bringing down the rpms notably to lug the engine can be indicative of a worn converter that's loosing efficiency

    Running Ds on the EXC

D's will be fine I'm running D's on my truck now and have no problem, E's would be nice but few mfg's make them in the larger sizes. you loose a bit of sidewall stiffness and tire capacity but you have more tire capacity than you do axle or GVW capacity.

    Converter choices

there are quite a few factors that come into creating the issues you're referring to with the automatic transmission. The valve body is made of 2 separate units the accumulator body and the main valve body (actually this is made of 2 pieces that bold vertically also) The accumulator body's...

We got our 1st CRJ-700 at work.

Those are some nice planes and far more cabin room than the -100 or -200 versions and according to my pilot brother they fly just like an arcade game.

    Converter choices

well you're getting answers to a question that you didn't even ask. For a converter, Racer X sells some good ones, I am pleased with the one I'm running from Ultimate converter concepts. Many of the builders use custom tweaked versions of precision industries (be aware there are 2 companies...

    Wife wants a new Camera

I've long since been a fan of Olympus point & shoot cameras, they seem to have better optics than their counterparts in the same price range, and stand up rather well (I still have and occasionally use the 35mm I had when I was a young boy scout) I'm still shooting a 7mp Olympus Camedia C-60 and...

    Question Engine noise

Welcome to the site :coffee your mileage seems a bit low however it all depends on what you're towing weight has some impact on your fuel consumption however wind drag, and speed also have significant impacts. This leaves out things like gear ratio, tires, filters, etc. I have a 4X10'...

    Have a Safe Halloween!

We bought a box of 22 ring pops and gave them away 2 at a time. I brought 9 to work this morning after the wife had one. We live in a neighborhood where the median age I'd guess is well into the 60's. Most of my neighbors built the house they are in when the neighborhood was being developed in...

    SES light

without a scanner you can never be positive diagnosis of those codes is easiest when you can monitor the sensors as the condition occurs. Given that your problem is at WOT I'd hazard the wild guess that the error could be over boost or it could be ICP duty cycle error which would indicate low...

torque converter shutter or axle wrap

Glad to see you've solved the issue, and that I was wrong warranty issues are a far bigger headache than they are worth often should it have been a transmission problem.

    HPOP hoses

sadly this isn't the first time that the Dealer supplied parts are not the same as what was OEM, and in many cases the dealer's can't even get what was supplied on the vehicle.

Help Needed Guess what? Replacing the CPS didn't help!

that looks like the right part, double check your truck to ensure that the TPS can be removed. Some they can't and you're in for a full pedal assembly.

torque converter shutter or axle wrap

I truly doubt that you're getting axle wrap. and here's my thinking 3.5" blocks were standard on F350 4wd trucks. the 35" tires while taller are not outside the realm of normal. I'm running the exact same size tire on mine with no problems with no lift. The Add-a-leaf on the rear is going to...

Chevy To Build The New Colorado In The US (Ford Are You Listening?)

The ranger was the last truck in the compact truck category the rest of the mfg's have upsized their trucks to "midsized" trucks. The competition in that class is the Dakota, Tacoma, Frontier, Colorado/Canyon, and Ridgeline. sales are dwindling across the board, small compact trucks had a...

    parting out a truck question

If you are willing to make a full swap "kit" for someone then 1500 would be a steal 2500 would be a decent price thought many talk of the desire to swap transmissions but are quickly scared when they start evaluating how much work is really involved.

    HPOP hoses

the steel braiding on the outside of a hose is only there for abrasion resistance. It is not there for structural purposes. Likely someone did an analysis and determined that the structure of the hose was compromised before any abrasion would impact the integrity of the hose. That being said...

Help Needed Guess what? Replacing the CPS didn't help!

the light is the standard CEL (check engine light) or SES (service engine soon) light that is on US trucks and is triggered by a computer sensed failure. Kicking to idle but not dying is one of the most common symptoms of the pedal assembly failing. The pedal assembly on the SD is a...

    Question Diesel swap

the rims will fit you may want to get the center cap/trim piece that clips on your lugnuts to give it a finished look as for the front suspension. just put the stock leafs back in the front, the sway bar end links appear to be extended ones also which will need to be swapped back for stockers...

    Still White Smoke?

you should have enough coming out the end of the tailpipe that it'll be wet there but it may be pooling well enough in the muffler or catalytic converter if equipped.

    superduty inframe?

you need the 2 ton one at a minimum, and given the lifting capacity at max extension is 1/2 ton or 1000 lbs you will have to disconnect the transmission as that'll put you over the weight capacity and make the cherry picker want to tip over.
