    Gt38r

X2 early99stroker I run mine pretty hard (I like to race) and I've seen boost levels up to 34-35. Increased airflow from AFE-II helps a lot

ARB Ford 10.25 Full Float Air Locker

Ok, Aggie-man: :D Another question. What's the difference between 'full-float' and the other types of lockers?

    Gt38r

I fell in love with it from day 1 :D *previously Nazty4x4's truck!*

ARB Ford 10.25 Full Float Air Locker

Thanks! Great info, man. I really like reading about how this stuff works. Especially since I'm the only one in my immediate workplace who has a big truck. I like being able to explain my equipment to people who ask about it, so this is really helpful! So, in your opinion, Detroit is the way to...

ARB Ford 10.25 Full Float Air Locker

My Detroit in the front isn't too loud. How does it know when to lock up? Does it have anything to do with locking the manual hubs?

ARB Ford 10.25 Full Float Air Locker

Also, quick question: I have a Detroit locker in the front. Without a switch to lock it in, when/how does it decide when to engage? I was thinkin about this the other day, as I took my truck out back in 4wd and locked hubs to get it all moving. Got me curious.

ARB Ford 10.25 Full Float Air Locker

With the electric locker, can it still be locked in and out via in-cab switch? I really like the idea of having it selectable

    Holy moley turbo/compressor surge!

Awesome. Doesn't sound TOO hard. I'll see if I can get over to Ford to check it out. Or at least hit up the website to check the recalls.

    Custom F-350 badges

Ya, those are pretty nice looking badges! I kinda want to keep it modest though, (no cummins killer, duramax destroyer, etc) because I seem to break down a lot. It'd be just my luck that as soon as I'd need help, a cummins or duramax would see me stranded. They're hot lookin badges though :D...

    Holy moley turbo/compressor surge!

Wow, great info guys. Thanks to all! Ok so, with the all talk about the CPS, which one is better? Grey? Black? Also..where's this sensor located? (in case I *do* get gutsy and attempt to replace it myself)

    Holy moley turbo/compressor surge!

Thanks man, I'll take the truck into Ford and have them run it for open recalls. Mark6403av, I have kind of a hard time reading your posts, takes a couple time re-reading it to understand what's being said. No offense, just put in some punctuation. Rammertide, did you say you didn't have...

    Need transmission advice

I currently have an ATS deep pan that holds extra fluid. My trans cooler is kept clean (even though I off-road pretty hard, I spray everything down and clean it all up...$25 carwash bucks later). Also, my license plate is custom mounted onto my full-replacement bumper, not in the way.

    Holy moley turbo/compressor surge!

Ok, thanks for the advice. I'm not exactly sure what v-ref is, but I'll research it as well as the other things you mentioned. Hopefully I can pinpoint where this problem is originating. I dont know bout ya'll, but to me: poor performance = something not working properly = if it hasn't broke...

    Holy moley turbo/compressor surge!

I used a general diagnostic tool from the auto parts store to check if there were any codes stored...none. Should I use a higher level scan tool?

    Holy moley turbo/compressor surge!

Ok so, there's no way to tell if it's bad. Does this sound like it could be my problem? What are the symptoms of the CPS going bad? I'd rather not go to Ford without knowing what I need/want, because (from what I've heard) these guys here aren't exactly known for their technical expertise in...

    Holy moley turbo/compressor surge!

CPS...camshaft position sensor? Oh boy. I know nothing about this part, but it already sounds expensive :dunno Any way i can verify that?

    Need transmission advice

Ok, so based on what i've heard so far...tell me if my logic is correct: Since my trans cooler wasn't changed, it could be partially plugged, causing fluid to travel via the bypass valve because of the slight rise in pressure...and because the bypass valve is a small line consistently pushing...

    Need transmission advice

Thanks for the info, mp18d! Good info. I understand how high temps kill the fluid, and later kill the trans. This is pretty shocking, but during my 4,000 mile road trip after my rebuild, temp guage climbed to 250*. (really bad, I know). Ambient temperature was 100* or so. I was told the it...

    Holy moley turbo/compressor surge!

I think the injectors are stock. Same as HPOP. PS. I've hit the accelerator pretty hard without this happening before. ??

    Holy moley turbo/compressor surge!

AGH! On my way home tonight I experienced (what I believe) is turbo or compressor surge. I had my SD tuned to max (DP F5, +120 HP) and accelerated from a stoplight. I didn't get to note the boost level at the time of the incident, and I don't recall the noise (if any) from the turbo, but...

    Need transmission advice

This may be a dumb question, but if were looking at the front end of the truck, which one of these coolers is the oil-water cooler in the radiator? Another question: if that's correct, how do people run an auxiliary cooler and not have problems with fluid flow? Ps. I think I forgot to mention...

    Your Valet (?) box

I have a sticker under the hood that says something about a remote start unit (I believe the sticker says DEI remote start unit) but the guy I bought the truck from couldn't tell me anything about it, and he didn't install one. I guess I'll get it checked out. Especially if it means I could...

    Question Schaeffer's ATF??

My trans was recently rebuilt. I'll check with the rebuilder. x2 on the idea for using the cheaper fluid. With the luck I'm havin thus far, I'd have to drain it and start all over, or something equivalently ridiculous. My wallet has already gotten plenty of exercise since buying this truck.
