Midwest, If it makes you feel better my autometer gauge hasn't moved much more then 100* all winter long and even in the summer heat it's rare that it goes over 150* no matter how hard I work the truck.
The cooler the better!
For the extra couple hundred bucks it costs I would go with mbrp's stainless duals with the muffler delete option. (delete pipe)
However, I do like my exhaust louder then most
I ran 315/75R16's for 6 months on stock 16x7 inch wheels without any problems or irregular tire wear however I wouldn't mount any larger of a tire on 7 inch wheels 315's are pretty much the limit.
I've found the superlift truspeed to be one of the best. I am currently running it on my truck. I fine tuned mine using a handheld gps in order to get it perfect. Cheers!
Mine is an 02 with 210,000 miles. Not a single problem with the engine but I have been through a couple transmissions. For the last 120K miles I've been running with an afe cold air intake, turbo-back exhaust, chip, and just recently installed a wicked wheel. Cheers! P.
Are you sure your truck doesn't already have a single setting chip installed in the pcm? My edge evolution will not recognize the key on prompt if I try to install programming with my chip installed.
I've been through 4 different transmissions in mine and each time I've had different problems
1st- 2nd gear clutches toasted right out of it (stock tranny 160K miles) I can't complain about that!
2nd- 2nd and 3rd gear clutches toasted (lasted 7K miles)
3rd- Overheated...
I have a buddy that recently bought an 05 F350 with a 6.0L and a 5R110 automatic. He also purchased a Bully dog power pup programmer and an AFE cold air intake. A couple days after he installled the new parts his truck started to run real rough, almost like it has dropped an injector. The...
Taylor Mish,
Diesel Performance Plus (AKA Darrell) has very good if not the best prices on grand rock and mbrp stack kits. I got mine from him. Diesel Performance Plus home
I'm not sure if it will work for you but in the past I have made brackets and/or used ty-wraps to hold the inner fender a little bit further back and out the way.
I also had an edge evolution programmer on my truck for about 100K miles. 0 problems tranny or engine trouble. Good bang for the buck. Now I have switched to a 6 position wildman chip for the on the fly adjustability.
I would go with the ATS housing, a wicked wheel. I have a wicked wheel with the stock housing and it seems to help alot. I have no more compressor surge, a little bit quicker spool up, and about a 50* drop in egts.
I had my stock shaft (2pc) made longer (the rear section) at the local driveshaft shop and they reused the yokes. I have had a couple different one peice shafts made and they didn't want to reuse my old yokes. One peice is definitly the way to go to cure the vibrations.
Does anybody know of hand what a 2000 5.9L 24 valve cummins is worth? It has 120K miles on it and is complete. Turbo, intercooler, all piping, engine wiring harness, radiator, hoses, etc. Thanks, P
I run 38x15.5R20 MTZ's so far they are wearing great. I have about 20,000 miles on mine and they still have 70% tread. They do make a little bit of a howl at hwy speeds but nothing compared to the super swamper IROKS that they replaced. They are great in the sand and loose soil but they clog...
I was wondering if anybody here has delt with them before for perfromance parts? Good or bad people to deal with? I would just buy the parts locally but I can't seem to find any Grand Rock vendors in Canada. Thanks, P.
My stock tranny let go around 150K miles....it started to slip shifting from 2nd to 3rd and a day later it was in the tranny shop for a complete rebuild.
