try draining the water separator on the frame rail fuel filter and see if that helps- ckamp52

how often do you drive it and how do you drive it....how many miles are on it..do you have gauges and let the truck cool down before youshut it off? just trying to get a littl info about you rig to help us try and narrow down the issue at hand- ckamp52

Another newbie question
well it all depends on the conditions out but yes diesels are more cold natured than gas vehicles..should always let them warm up pretty good when its cold out...always good to let em cool down so the turbo and other components have ample time to cool down...i def wouldnt just crank it and go...- ckamp52

dpf removal & exhaust
I would just buy the whole kit from spartan...but i dont really think that youwould have an issue with being pulled over and a trooper crawling down to look underneath the truck and go we sh@t you dont have a dpf haha i think that its more in the future when we have to get smog tested and...- ckamp52

like they said 04 and up id even say 05 and up you should be better off than an 03,,drive it like thery are meant to be used and maintain it well and they are good trucks..they just take a little more maint than the older diesels due to all the egr emmissions bs they have to put on em now...ive...- ckamp52

There still are good dealerships out there
If ya come down, the guy you need to talk to is named Sam...very helpful and actually knows about these trucks....obviously there are way more diesels in the cowboy capitol of the world so these guys are diesel savvy unlike some of the city dealers ;tu- ckamp52

Well i finally got my truck back today from having the y pipes fixed. Just wanted to share how good of a guy the Ford house in Stephenville has. He told me my issue was the downpipe was rubbing on the flex pipe are of the y pipe due to it being the larger aftermarket dp. We got a new one in...- ckamp52

Hypermax 7.3
i havent seen this but there is a guy where i am from and he deals strictly with powerstrokes and only uses hypermax...his trucks have always lasted and i have driven a few that were hellacious fast...just a littl info haha- ckamp52

Question poor fuel economy lately
could be a variety of things - have you changed your air/fuel filters lately, colder weather will decrease tire pressure and you have the winter blend of fuel as well....just a few things that may be adding up to a decent mpg loss,,sounds simple but jut thought i'd thow it out there....good luck- ckamp52
