    Underhood critters

:sweet, I'm going to get me one of those. I left a baited live trap out last night under the jeep but it was empty this morning. Guess they didn't want to eat out last night...but I'll get him and then I'll pin his little a$$ to the barn as a warning...

    Underhood critters

Most of the time they laugh at the snap traps also (cause of the horses) but peanut butter sounds like a plan. I like baiting the live traps cause then I know I got the little buggers. After 20 some years where we are, the cars and trucks have never been touched by rats, squirrls, mice...

    Underhood critters

OK, I'm so mad I could eat bees. I almost tagged someone this weekend in the wife's KJ cause something had eaten the vacuum brake boster line almost in half. Didn't realize it was an issue till we got out on the main road. It felt a little stiff but not bad until I needed to stop a little...

Need Help Finding A Lamp - Navy Guys?

Yeah that's in officer country. I was in supply and if they were available, I would of had one...:thumbs. Course a lot of things change in 30 years... You may want to check a Marine supply outlet. Maybe one of the big boat builders has them.

    Do you suppose

Geez, I'm not even going to try on this one. I think the never acts up part is also a part of the engineering. The vehicle knows when it's in the shop and there's a program in the computer that overides the issue when a Ford Tech has it. It's one of those hidden embedded things that no matter...

    Do you suppose

...the people who engineer these trucks stay up late figuring out how to mess with us on diagnostics? I had an issue where whenever I had the cruise on and then hit the turn indicator, it would shut the cruise off. The first couple of times it happened I thought the CPS was taking a dump. Then I...

    Polyurethane spring bushings installed

That's why mine are still sitting in my tool box...We started it once and my b-i-l (owns a shop) opted out once we got it in the air and started looking at it. He wanted to think it over some more. This was when Quadzilla was still in the area. I'm hoping to get it done by the end of the year so...

    Tool descriptions

Way too funny. This reminds me of an anger management (long story) session I had. One of questons I was asked was about throwing things when I got mad. I said "Yeah it makes me feel better". After a couple of weeks I was if I was still throwing tools when I got mad, "Nope, now I just throw...

Joke Time..Again NOT FOR THE EASILY OFFENDED!!!

How about ... A woman was shopping at her local supermarket where she selected: * 1 quart of low fat milk * a carton of eggs * 2 cans of orange juice * a head of lettuce * half a dozen tomatoes * a pound of coffee * a pound of bacon As she was unloading her...

    Aftermarket radio

That's what caught my eye at first was mating the systems to the truck. They make it easy to find one that will fit and looks like it belongs there instead of an after market patch...

    Aftermarket radio

I'm looking at some upgraded CD players and after checking them out locally, Crutchfield has the one I want almost $150 cheaper. Are they for real? I know the local shops add installation to it but even with all the harnesses and the "needed extras" from Crutchfield, they are still amazingly...

    hub covers

I've got a part number from Alcoa for the nut covers so I'm going to try and get them and leave the hub exposed...I can find all kinds of covers for the steel wheels but not the aluminum ones. Oh well, I thought someone "over there" had found some replacements...but no one responded. And yeah...

    hub covers

I've joined the ranks of the missing rear wheel hub covers. This one actually broke off and left the tabs and steel ring in the wheel. Anyway, has anyone come up with a decent replacement for them? I'd even settle for chrome nut covers...

    Speed Sensor

We do it at 50k so it's been changed 3 times already but it's worth doing again just because. I've also been driving it since the last episode and it's driving and shifting llike normal. Even hauled the horses to a sorting last night and no problems...I just hate these little issues.

    Speed Sensor

Yeah, everything gets checked every oilchange and fluids get changed per the PM schedule. But it's worth looking at. I'm beginning to think that I want to keep a spare speed sensor with the cps and drive belt... :D

    Speed Sensor

Last week I had what I thought was the tranny taking a powder. It would rev up with no forward motion, started bucking and jerking then would run through the gears and lock the TC up by 15 mph. As per normal, I was hauling a full load of horses and figured I wouldn't make it home. Got it home...
