Sold the Silverado!!!
Welcome to the site. I too sold a Chevy to get a PSD. The Silverado is fine for a gasser, but the PowerStroke is the diesel to have for the long haul. fgtex- fgtex

01' stroke how to make some hp
99 to 00 have the better rods, I think, 01 may be the last year. There is a serial number break that comes into play, so not all engines of the last MY will have them. The rods will make a big difference regarding how much HP you can make at the rear wheels without causing damage. Most go...- fgtex

power window problem, help!
Did you check the fuses under the dash panel? You say that it works once in a while. Does it not work sometimes or do you not use it that often? Maybe the motor has finally given out. fgtex- fgtex

Vibration?

Gauges, gotta get gauges
I have the DiPricol gauges. Pyro, Boost and Tranny. They have the same layout as the factory dash. Black face, red/orange needle, white numbers in day. Looks green at night. I have the 3 pod over the mirror. Had to relocate the mirror down a few inches. I believe that they have a 4 pod...- fgtex

Drill bit broke in exhaust manifold
OK. Got it out. Loosened the up-pipe and forced it back w/ a screwdriver enough to get my little finger in there to wiggle the bit down and out. 95_Stroker - I haven't stepped up drill bits before, and won't in the future. I was trying to follow directions to a tee for once...see where it...- fgtex

Yes. Here is a link to the directions on ITP's site that I am using. Figure #13 on page 17. "For drill/tap pyro probe installation" <-- this is where I am drilling. fgtex- fgtex

It fell off in the inside. I am going to get the most expensive for metal drill bits that Lowes has so that I can finish the hole out. I will try the magnet thing also. fgtex- fgtex

Oil Filters
I use Rotella 15W50 and Mobil 1 filters. Can't justify the synthetic cost at regular drain intervals. Auto Zone sells the Mobil 1 filters for $9.95. The best price that I have seen on Rotella and Delo is at Tractor Supply. fgtex- fgtex

After reading the above posts and studying the Haynes manual for the truck, I have determined that the tech must have failed front end alignment school. I looked under the truck, with 4 yrs of road grime, and the only parts that have been adjusted is the drag-link.-mad No wonder the steering...- fgtex

Mileage improvement...the eternal quest. I added the DIY Tymar style intake and a 4" turbo back exhaust two weeks ago and have noticed a 0.5 mpg avg gain over the last 3 tanks. There is the 80hp econo tune from DP Tuner that is supposed to help. I will be able to give more details on this...- fgtex

I had new tires put on today at NTB. Their free alignment check said that the toe was off and that this was causing my front tires to wear out on the outside edge faster than the rest of the tire. 16" Rims on 2006 F-250
Won't spacers affect hubs / axle / parts longevity? I can get a sweet deal on the rims and tires, and the guy said that he would pay for the spacers just to get rid of the tire / wheels. fgtex- fgtex

why they don't fit! The backspacing on the 2005 wheels is 6" to 6 1/4" and the backspacing on the 1999 to 2004 vehicles is 4". These are my eyeball guestimates with a tape measure. The pics below show why a 2005 17" rim will not fit on a 2002 F350 4x4. Pic #1 is the factory 16" rim and...- fgtex
