    radar dectors??? what to get

I have a V1, it's the best as far as I'm concerned, haven't gotten pulled over with it in the 4 years or so that I have had it, knock on wood....

    Steering Slop

75,000 miles, but hard, plenty of dirt/off road miles in there. I put a new stabilizer on 2 weeks ago to see if that was the the problem, as the old one was seeping some oil, but it didn't really tighten anything up. Seems to me the slop is in the box, as I can turn the column by hand under...

    Steering Slop

I have over an inch of play in my steering wheel on my F250. I tried cranking down the adjustment screw on the steering box, it may have helped a little, but the play is still mostly there. I put over 2 turns on the set screw, and the most noticeable difference is that it steers a little...

Who's smarter than me? with electrical???

If you have to drain your tank to get it to start, your problem may be in the unloading, as previously posted. You need a check valve between the tank and the pump, and a means to bleed the air off this line between pump output and check valve. Then it will be starting no load, and will pull...

Question Transmission flush - only 10 qts came out?

There are some that will tell you that there's a valve in the tranny that doesn't let the cold fluid circulate through the cooler, so you need warmed up fluid to be able to run it all in and out through the cooler lines. Otherwise the valve will close when the cold new fluid hits it and start...

    GEM Module Questions

I posted a clock spring r&r question last week, never got any answers. I don't think it's too hard, I plan on doing it myself. I THINK you need some regular tools plus torx sockets, and a steering wheel puller (can borrow from autozone, etc.) Don't see too many problems with it, but don't...

    Cab Clearance Light LED Bulbs

Thanks for the info, yes, I've bought some stuff from superbrightleds before, been impressed. I don't want to go with smoked/clear lenses on this truck, I just don't think it would fit that well. I like it on other trucks, my last truck was cleared out, but on this red truck i think amber...

    Cab Clearance Light LED Bulbs

I'm going to install factory amber lensed clearance lights on my F250, and was wondering if it would make any difference to put LED bulbs in the housings, or if it wouldn't be an improvement with the amber lenses? Anybody have a part number? I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

    Replacing Clock Spring

How do I go about replacing the clock spring? My airbag light is on, the horn doesn't work, and the cruise is intermittent. This is the clock spring, right? I have an XLT, no steering wheel audio controls. How does 44.93 sound for a replacement? How do I pull the wheel and airbag? Any...

    Rubber floor and floormats?

Do rubber floored pickups need floor mats? When I had one I didn't have no mats at all.

Yup, I kept mine, don't need to toss stuff like that too far...

    Gotta get me some tools

Fastenal is a Craftsman distributor, when I have a broken tool, I go there to replace it under warranty, not to Sears. Fastenal is kinda a strange outfit, their list prices are kinda high, but as a regular account I get a fairly decent price, not quite the cheapest, but they are in my town...

    The muffler fell off...

I didn't bother leaving the MBRP muffler off, it's straight through anyways, no way that's going to affect the flow. I ran it a bit with an open downpipe, it didn't sound much louder/different, so I just put the muffler on there, too lazy to find a replacement pipe anyways....

    Door Latch Adjustment

Okay, I'll look at the strips more seriously. I am a skinny 6'5", but with that, it's pretty easy to get in the truck without leaning on the door too much. I don't even have the running boards on there, hit my shins on those one too many times. Yes, I was trying to avoid the starting from...

    Gotta get me some tools

Our local craigslists have lots of boxes going up, new ones every week. Lot of really pricey (4K+) ones, but a bunch of affordable stuff too. Name brand hand tools too, but not as often. One thing I forgot to mention earlier about the Craftsman exchanges, I get mine replaced at Fastenal, I'm...

    Door Latch Adjustment

Yeah, I've seen the hose in the strip, but don't think that's the fix here. The door doesn't shut with a thud like the rest do, more a hollow, not tight sound.

    Door Latch Adjustment

My driver's door rattles quite a bit, noise coming from about ear level on the driver's side. Window up or down. When I slam the door shut, it doesn't grab like the other 3 doors do, it sounds kinda weak. Is this adjustable in the latch? I drive allot of dirt roads, fields, and get in and...

    Gotta get me some tools

Don't overlook some of the German stuff, they are top notch, but then again, not cheap either. I prefer Knipex's channel locks, snap ring pliers, etc. Snap On and MAC sells re-branded Knipex. Cheaper to buy them as Knipex. My (good) screwdrivers are all Klein Tools. Full set of nut drivers...

    air intake upgrades

That would be the one, I was stuck on the AIC acronym, but I knew that wasn't it. Thanks. Farmers out here love that filter, it does real well on all the dirt roads and in the fields.

    air intake upgrades

For the 7.3 the best bet is the off-road filter ford offers, I can't remember what they call it, there are folks here running it, they will be by to tell you what it's called. All the oiled cloth filters let more air through because they don't filter as much. Don't run dirt through your PSD...

Question What did you do to your truck today?

More or less. I just have a specific hose in this truck with two female ends. It also works nice as I can hook up shop air to the tank without an adapter and pressure it up, not having to wait for the brakes to air up in the shop and blow black smoke inside....

Question What did you do to your truck today?

I run a Mack truck off road, so it gets muddy all the time. What I did on the air system is run the male end of the coupler set under the truck, it's easy to clean, you can wipe the mud off it with your finger and crack the valve to blow the inside clean. Then plug in the female part of the...

    2008 Center Console Swap

I ordered one this afternoon, I sent my brother to look at the local dealer and he said camel is a better fit to my color interior. The seller link you sent was a little cheaper, I hadn't found it yet (ebay search engine sucks) but it was medium stone, probably fine, but for a few bucks more I...

    2008 Center Console Swap

I have an 05 with the tan interior, am looking to buy an 08 console. The colors are confusing me. Is the Camel closer to the tan 05, or is it Medium Stone? They both look tan-ish, and I'm getting confused with all the ebay sellers telling me they are tan but called stone, etc. Anybody else...

open door indicator wont turn off

I do this on all our fords, and it's worked for all of them so far, just spray some WD-40 in there, and open and close it a few times. It doesn't take a whole can for me either. Not even a 1/4 can. Oh, and WD-40 isn't that expensive, 16 oz cans can be had for less than 4 bucks...
