    '06 6.0 Fuel Gauge?

My 6.0 will start to sputter when you get really low. Thats when I know it's REALLY time to fill up. I don't have an info center that tells me xx miles to E, so couldn't tell you there. Last time it was sputtering on me I got over 31 gallons in the tank. Don't recommend that practice though...

    Cat Delete?

I do know of a few shops that mandrel bend. One shop did a 6.0 for a buddy and a 6.6 for another. They both spent around $400, so no big cost advantage there. And they were aluminized, but around here, SS isn't needed.

    differential fluid change website

    I buy 75 W 140 Synthetic in 5 gallon buckets and it's $102. That's $5.10 a quart. A good deal, but kinda a pain to work with though.

    high idle

PTO High Idle will lock the torque converter and spin the engine at 1200 RPM (adjustable with rheostat if you want). Battery Charge Protect starts off at 1200 RPM and ramps up if there's a low voltage situation, either to low batteries or if you are boosting something. I have both wired up...

    Fuel Leak Under Bed

Well I pulled the bed (surprisingly easy, WAY easier than a Chevy I've done before), and had a look around, all sorts of stuff was covered in diesel. The leak seamed to originate from the top of the tank somewhere. But I could not find the source. I removed everything I could, pressure...

    Fuel Leak Under Bed

Oh, don't bother to look up the price. This will not be done at the dealership, that's for sure. Maybe a good time to do the harpoon mod too.

    ESOF question

It's inches of mercury. Inches for short. It sounds like you have a vacuum leak, not real fun to trace everything down, but not impossible. Check the hoses starting at the hubs and work back, or on the HVAC unit.

    Fuel Leak Under Bed

That seems like my problem, but my mess wasn't near as big. I still haven't had a chance to mess with it yet. Tomorrow, hopefully. Too many other things going right now. Decided to take the Explorer for a 3 hour trip, no telling how bad my mileage would be on that. So, if it comes down to...

    Fuel Leak Under Bed

When I came home a little bit ago, I noticed there was a puddle on the ground where I had parked when I came home for supper. It seems to be diesel, and a quick look with the flashlight showed it came from the outboard side of the fuel tank, and down the frame, and it looked like the underside...

    mileage

It's sure nice to see someone else as OCD as me! Good idea on the color coding, I generally put a comment behind it what I was doing that tank. I even keep track of my hours, so I can do MPH and GPH. I might get around to posting mine when I get back to the office.

    New truck, new exhaust... opinions?

I have the same exhaust as you do, you got a pretty good price. Where'd you find it? I have had warranty work done without the cat on it, but the tech wasn't a hard ass either. I think he liked seeing what kind of work people do on their trucks.

    upfitter switches

I have one wired to my V1 radar detector, one for my battery charge high idle, and one for the PTO high idle.

    best chip/tuner for under $500

I've run my SCT from Innovative for close to 2000 miles now. It's been great, lots of oomph, and the transmission control is fantastic. I towed 12K without brakes for 750 miles, and the it really slowed the whole rig down without being on the brakes all the time. No good mileage numbers yet...

D rated vs E rated Tires

Just giving you a hard time. Tire technology has also come along way in the last few years, rubber compounds, strength, etc, so there's probably not a direct correlation anymore. Anybody gone to Load Range G tires on their truck? Talk about big bucks for new tires, but they do last forever.

New 200K warranty for Ford diesels

I'm 99% sure you have the 5/100K warranty (engine only), it's been around for quite some time, all 6.0's for sure. Your remaining powertrain is 3/36K, unless an extended warranty was purchased at the time.

D rated vs E rated Tires

Nitto makes a 285 E too, me thinks they make quite a few large E rated tires. Bushpilot, no need to get mad, it's just that LR D's can hold as much weight or more than a smaller LR E, the letters are only designating the ply count, not the weight rating so much. D's have 8 plys, E's have 10...

    Stinger Hitch Helper

I wanna see some goofball use this contraption and get high centered and be stuck there. And he wouldn't be sharp enough to put it in 4x4 to get himself out?

    Braking and fuel mileage

So does slowing down in Tow/Haul and letting it shift down burn more fuel? It's no load RPM, so it's not fueling heavily I think.

D rated vs E rated Tires

If you look at the specs, you can probably find 305 in D's that have a higher load rating than 265 E's, that came stock. I run 285 D Michelins in my truck, no issues. But I did wish the where E when I bought them, just for the just in case factor. I ran the stock Rugged Trails on the rear for...

    i found something better....

Well I would say if you live 20 miles away you better make it! It's a great place to go and see the new stuff, run into people you haven't seen in a while, catch up with sales people, and if you know the right ones, there's plenty of beer too!

    Tire Rotation Help

Beat a little more I guess. Maybe take a rubber mallet and strike on the rim from behind. Last time I pulled my wheels off the front popped right off, and rears were pretty stuck. I was doing it on a lift, so you don't want to ream on them too hard, but if you've got it jacked up a few...

    PLUG IT IN ??

Make sure you find a timer that has a grounding prong in the plug. That way everything will be grounded properly. Some timers are just for double insulated plugs.

I had been planning on going to the Tulare farm show next week, but it didn't work out. I haven't been in about 7 years already. I enjoy going there, maybe next year....

    Rotella T Synthetic

Also, you never really get all the old oil out either, so it adds to the color of the new oil when mixed. Like trying to get rid of all the died diesel in a tank without running it completely dry.
