    You guys are half correct. The fins allow for more surface area for the heat to be "dissipated" to the surrounding air. Also, the aluminum is better at exchanging heat than steel, steel will hold allot of the heat in itself for a longer time. Aluminum will take on the heat of the oil faster...

    He seemed like a pretty competent tech, he knew what the problem was right away, and was going to get started. He said he had the bracket kit in stock. I'm kinda stuck here, and there's not an IH dealer anywhere close by. So I will just have to go with this fix.

    How high are you guys jacking up the trailer if it hits the tailgate? I just clear the ball when unhooking, that way the hitch will only hit the bumper, or the lisence plate if you go too far.
