Does anyone own a battery load tester?

Anyone else own a battery load tester? I'm still looking at buying one.

    AC Mod

My results I performed the modification to lower the temperature of the Max A/C setting output. I installed the vacuum actuated valve that bypasses the heater core (but allows continuous flow of coolant) only when Max A/C is selected. Here are the temp readings a got putting a temp sensor in...

question about my 4x4 set up auto or manual???

For some reason, I thought driving around all the time with the hubs locked was bad for the truck. I guess it was just something I heard at one time. It turns the axles and driveshaft only, right?

I agree. I've noticed how this happens on some of my projects. Sometimes I spend hours researching stuff on line just to save a few dollars. I did put this kit together with one stop at Advance Auto for about $22. Thanks for all the help and advice given on this forum.

I agree, but it's a little cold to charge $50 for a valve that can be purchased for $20-$25 and hardware worth about $5. So that's about $20 for instructions!!! Thanks for the diagrams. I really do appreciate it. My wife and I are both college students, so we don't have a huge income right now.

    Anyone have a vacuum diagram?

I'm looking for a vacuum diagram for my 2000 F-250 (specifically around the a/c and heater controls).

    AC Mod

Does anyone have a copy of the installation instructions from the dieselsite.com mod kit? Also, is the supply to the heater core coming from the water pump or the block hose? It makes sense that the supply would come from the water pump, but I could be wrong. Also, check out this link...

Mustangs Unlimited - The Premier Source for Mustang, Shelby and Cougar Parts and Accessories This valve looks pretty similar and is about 1/2 the price. It is for 5/8" heater hose. I thought of this because I remember removing this same valve off my '68 Mustang years ago.

    AC Mod

I would only install a union if the engine block needs the coolant flowing. I wouldn't want to cavitate or overheat something. If it is just in the "loop", then I will install the ball valve. I'm going to try and get a baseline temp coming out of the vents before installing the ball valve. Then...

    AC Mod

What about cutting both heater hoses and connecting them together with a union? The coolant could circulate through the block/water pump. Also, the heater core would be closed off for the summer.

    AC Mod

Will this do it? Inlet and outlet are 3/4", 150psi max, 250* max temp It claims that minimum temp is 32*, but at that temp I won't be moving the valve so it shouldn't hurt anything right? Sioux Chief 3/4 in. x 3/4 in. Brass Barb x Barb Ball Valve - 648X93PK1 at The Home Depot

    AC Mod

If the coolant is not flowing into the heater core (and obviously not flowing out of the heater core), is this keeping coolant from reaching somewhere in the block where it should be going? Also, does anyone know what size the heater hose is? I'm thinking about installing the ball valve. I guess...

GVWR means the fully loaded weight with passengers, cargo, fuel, and trailer tongue weight, right? I'm looking for the curb weight.

Question How much does it weigh?

Has anyone on here had their truck weighed? I'm looking for the weight of my '00 F-250, 7.3L, 4WD, crew cab, automatic. I don't want to pay to have it weighed on the scales at a truck stop. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Drew

    Door Ajar Light

This is a post of mine from a few months ago: "On my 2000 F-250, I just found a spot where rain was leaking inside my truck and dripping directly onto my GEM module and fuse block. I found my fuse block to contain rust/corrosion inside. A few days ago I took apart the fuse block (one layer at a...

    Question Sputtering engine

How is the pickup screen accessed? Is it a simple job? Does it take any special tools?

    Question Sputtering engine

I had trouble removing the cap for the fuel filter. Of course the 1/2" drive just chews up the hole. So I'm posting a picture of the method I used. I actually used a long pry bar for leverage instead of the screwdriver seen in the picture. It made it very easy to remove using this method. I...

    Question Sputtering engine

I currently have 167,000 miles on my F-250. I was driving through town today accelerating from a stop to about 40mph. When I reached about 30mph, the engine RPM dropped to idle and sputtered for 3-4 seconds. I have 1/2 tank of fuel. It only did it that one time and hasn't done it again. I can't...

    Question AC Circuit.....

Yep, I had my windshield leak into the cab causing my fuse block to corrode. I was able to save it by carefully taking apart the fuse block and gently bead blasting the contacts/tracks and then applying clear coat to them to prevent future corrosion. Before I repaired it, I would come out after...

    Leather seat repair?

On the driver's seat of my truck, the leather on the seat is torn and the hole is getting bigger. Has anyone ever tried to patch a leather seat? What should I use to fix this? Drew
