    Upfitter switches

I don't believe so. The 05's and up come with different molding so the upfitter switches and/or brake controller will not physically fit--at least not give a good, factory look.

Loud whining kinda sound when towing?

Mine started making this sound yesterday while pulling the travel trailer. First time I pulled it since getting the 06E17 flash. Are the two related? I started thinking something was wrong with the truck, but everything seems normal...EGT's are a bit higher than usual, but ambient air temp is...

    going camping this weekend...

Ooh, that sucks. We're out on our first camping trip of the season; went to a state park north of Boston. Nice site rite on the ocean. Remember, if the campers a rockin.....the wind must be blowing hard cause we're too busy chasing kids to do anything!

    Dome light override??

Does anyone know how to hook up a dome light override? I had a 98 Silverado with this feature, hit the button and open any of the doors without the lights coming on and waking the kids. Worked real slick. There's got to be a way to do it.

    I'm all smiles

I remember passing up $1.47 two years ago because a station on the other side of El Paso was $1.39. The former doesn't look so bad right about now.

36 month/36K mile REPORT (warranty stuff)

Sounds like you had a great experience! Good for you, seems they're either few and far between or just not talked about too often. Is your dealer mod friendly? Seems that the lift might make them think twice about any warranty work on the suspension, etc, but looks like you might be okay. :dunno

    salesman says i should

Not bad, not bad at all. 5 months left on the lease, I'd stick it out and be done with it. Start looking at what you want to replace it with. :sweet You could probably slide into a sweet deal on an 06 once the 07's start rolling in.

THE "X" vs. the civic for Bill! (kinda like his runin')

Yeah, congrats to you and your fiance. Now if you'd take off that red hat you'd be in business!:roflmao Nice pic of the X and the civic, too. :sweet

    I'm a newbie

Welcome, Poppasmurf. Do some reading on the forum, you'll get more than enough information to make a good decision. Glad to have you on the site.:sweet

    salesman says i should

Understand this is a guess on my part, but I'd think any 2 year limit--if there is such a thing--is just a guideline by which Ford uses to make decisions on buybacks. If the customer has driven the truck for 2 years and hasn't requested a buy back, then it must not be bad enough, so they'll go...

    PROBLEM WITH EGR

Why did you buy the EGR valve? It's covered under the diesel engine warranty. Just had mine replaced. As long as your rig has under 100k on the ticker, it's covered. $100 deductable.

    salesman says i should

IMHO, you've got two issues here: 1. If in fact Ford does have a 2 year policy, you're out of luck and there is nothing that can be done, regardless of how nice or how rude the representative is. Investigate the 2 year policy and see if it's true. In my mind, I'm guessing if a truck is bad...

Picked up the new Newfie puppy today!

We're expecting 120-150 pounds when full grown. Nice thing about Newfies is that they're pretty lazy, so their food bill (as an adult) is alot less than what you might think....I'm banking on that!:roflmao Had him to the vet today and all looks good. Got a chip injected in him (wonder if...

    4 Wheel Drive Use

I understand the logic, but there's plenty of times that I've been very glad to have 4x4, even if I don't "need" it every week. I think what Pete was originally referring to was the times when you don't need it for 3 or 4 months.

    Beat a dead horse?

I used to have them too on cold mornings. Best way to describe it? Well, ever been to a monster truck show and listened to their trucks at idle? Romp, romp, romp....

    4 Wheel Drive Use

Are you still in Hawaii? ...avatar gave it away. I've heard that it's best to use it just to use it to keep it functioning properly. I would think that not using it would cause it to go bad. Any experts got a good opinion on this??

That's pure fluff! You should see him after his bath, twice as fluffy.

Picked up the new Newfie puppy today!

We got a Landseer Newfoundland from a breeder in Tennessee. He's 14 weeks old and very well behaved. He's a bit tired from the flight and all, so right now he's asleep in my lap...thinks he's a small dog. The boys are pretty excited, especially the 7 year old. Just wait till he's on turd...

    Beat a dead horse?

Well, since you asked.... Prior to switching to Amsoil, I used 15W40 in the summer (towing RV season) and 5W30 in the winter--exactly like the owners manual states. Now I run Amsoil HDD 5W30 Synthetic year round, towing and not towing, and it works great. Many guys recommended doing it...

your going to like this one sided event

I'm not too familiar with the Duramax or Cummins, but one thing to consider when talking about acceleration--especially under load--is all the emissions crap on the 6.0 that robs initial power upon take off. I think a more accurate test would be pulling up a grade from a set speed. Who drag...

    Beat a dead horse?

Absolutely. I'm sure others will chime in here shortly, but I can tell you that I've been running full synthetic for roughly 25k (80k on truck now) and it's running great....got the oil analysis to show that the wear is excellent. FWIW, there are a lot of diesel "old wives tales" from the...

    Beat a dead horse?

Start at 5,000 miles. Take an oil sample and send it to Blackstone Labs. They'll tell you what shape your oil is in after 5,000 miles, and even give you a recommendation as to changing it sooner or letting it go a bit longer. Without a bypass system, though, I'd stick to 5,000 max. Myth. New...
