    That's almost exactly the mileage I had when my original batt.'s started to wane. Although I got 5 years out of em', but I'm here in N. Calif.(sealevel), I have to drive a few hours to find snow in the wintertime.

    You have no signature shown. What year, mileage,under warranty? We can only assume not under warranty because you're considering doing reconditioning yourself. Hopefully that is what the problem is. No symptoms other than the CEL coming on? What code was/is being thrown?
