    I have a 2006 dually that came with 245/75R/17E OEM tires and wheels. I would like to increase tire size, what would my max size be 265, 285, 305’s? I have 4:10 gears any idea of tire diameter and change in gear ratio? Looking for some improvements in fuel MPG opportunities?

    FYI This is not Apple to Apple but I had a 2001 / 7.3 with 218K miles using AMSOIL Bypass Filter with only 2 oil changes. Yes I used AMSOIL Series 3000 HD 5W-30 oil. The new to 2006 6.0 will soon have a By PASS System With an oil designed for long drains you can run the miles. Ken

    Bushpilot I tow a 10K TT from time to time the 3:55 would not work. I had a 7.3 PSD "X" that pushed the limits of the "X" when towing but a 218K avergae of over 15.3 MPG would like to get back into this area. Ken

    I had looked at overdrive units ($3000+/-) with 4:10 gears this would equal a 15% year improvement in MPG or 2.03 MPG increase. At this cost it would take 3 years of 2.03 MPG improvement to break even before you would see any ROI. Ken
