    Wow, it's actually hot!

Snow, what's that?? :dunno It's not the droplets of water that are suspended in the air at 80 and 90 degrees making it almost impossiable to breathe.. :roflmao That's what we get here. (lately the humidity has been pretty low though like in the 50-60% range :D ) The one thing I greatly dislike...

    Low end surge fix

Yep, those UVC's could have had a few more R&D $$$ thrown at them  My truck made it to almost 150k before the driver side started giving up. I lost like 3 cyclinders and my PSD was runnin like a Harley :D (funny now, but -mad then!) Long story short, I broke the d@*% connector on...

    Tranny skips over Reverse.

I'm not sure I understand the symptoms. When it goes to neutral (feels that way) if you leave it alone does it eventually just start moving in reverse, or do you fiddle with the gear shift? Sometimes the electronic gear selector switch down on the tranny can get jarred out of position, and would...

Rear Axle Howling at 89,800 miles

Well anal is NOT the first word that comes to mind, more like systematic is more appropriate  I couldn't even drive the truck with new carrier and pinion bearings knowing the axel tubes could be full of metal chunks :dunno Anyway hope you decide to pull the axels, at least I'll sleep...

    O/D switch took a sh*^

Ok, I believe my truck is either in puberty, or revolt after my SVO converstion :dunno Going down the road today I realized the O/D switch isn't working. Tried everything, wiggled, pressed gently, rammed.. nothing Then (cause this kinda stuff makes me crazzy) through out the day as I continued...

WVO Blackstone Oil report... Not good

More info, sorry for the length Ok, more info… The engine was manufactured Sep. 98’ This truck is known as an early 99’. The engine has 170,800mi, most of which was on Mobil 1. I installed the by-pass just prior to the “go-live” WVO conversion. I’ve been running veggie for around 10k miles...

WVO Blackstone Oil report... Not good

Ok, hope I'm able to post this PDF for you guys to digest. I'm not sure how running a different fuel would have such an effect on my engine oil. :dunno I do have to say the last couple times I changed my oil it's consistancey was different, like more "stringy" for lack of a better term. Like...

Rear Axle Howling at 89,800 miles

Dennis I would say the Sterling axle has proven itself over many many years of service. I certainly don't baby mine (use wise), but change the fluid every 30-40k miles regardless of what Ford thinks. On a side note and I have no flame suit guys so this is just MY opinion... From the factory I...

    Wiggle in water pump

Replace ASAP! I've got my story and T-shirt. Mine had no symptoms around 100k, until the fam and I went on a camping trip. Sunday returning home there was a racquet so loud it was heard in the cab over everything else. 100 miles later I'm home. Still not a drop of coolant I have no idea what's...

Rear Axle Howling at 89,800 miles

Dennis, do you tow heavy? Does the sound change on accel and deccel? Really stupid, but must know, is it leaking? (pinion, rear cover damp etc.) Haven't looked, but perhaps if you have really torqued it, if there's a crush sleeve, it could have deformed a little messing up the preload on the...

    203 Tstat from Bob Riley

Snowman, I think the 203* shouldn't really be viewd as a mod, but more of a "correction" . On the mileage I would consider perhaps your fuel stations have switched from winter blend. :dunno The engine should run more efficently, but 4mpg... seems a bit high for a slightly higher...

    CPS Failure? or not?

WOW  CHP, I'd a bet some $$$ you'd a had one. :dunno I thought I had a bad CPS and changed it out with my in-stock glove box unit  and it turned out to be some relays. Couple months later found stranded camper in parking lot down from my house, stopped to lend assistance and...

    CPS Failure? or not?

Brian, I'll bet that was like a well guided hammer strike, right on the THUMB :sorry I like the H2O/CPS idea and if anyone makes it that far with no CPS change, REALLY should go ahead and change it. :cowboy: How did you fare? Bertha up and strummin again

    Brass vs. Biodiesel

Pretty much Brian, although I will closely by examining my brass fittings and if I have an incaling theres a problem, it's off to aluminum I go. Funny I also forked over the dough for the same plans. Great concept, I'll use it next time with different materials. Man you should see my bomb :eek...

    Adding more rear window tint

I would not attempt to remove the OEM tint. My outlaws :D are in the window replacement business. That tint is more of a coating and is applied by the manufacturer. Just tint over it

    Trany Question

Man, it sure is good NOT to see the BTS cheerleaders here :roflmao Now I'm sure it is a GREAT tranny, and so are a LOT of otheres. I rebuilt my tranny, no I mean I rebuilt it  (with Gregg Evans' help) with my hands. Bob Riley sells the MB kit and it isn't to bad. I did my deal prior to he...

    Online fittings source?

Blue, Those so called check valves are in fact just restrictors. I forget who has some shots of them, but I still have mine and would be glad to disassemble them and take a pic or two ;) Instead of a "ball" replace that with a cone shapped piece with holes around the pointed part. This...

    Brass vs. Biodiesel

Cooper, poor mans GOLD? Yep, I got enough cooper in my system to be classified as a rare earth truck :p I have noticed the green"ing" of parts of my cooper and my brass fittings. Here is the skinny I've observed. Seems this is more of an "oxidation" effect where oxygen (air) is needed to...

    Best place to get coolant

Brian, Hope this isn't too late, but I have a few observations that may be relevant. 1) I have the by-pass H2O filter plumbed into the 3/8 side of the water pump. It returns to the deguase (sp?) bottle. When my hood is up I can see the return flow and at idle it really sucked, BUT once the...

    Professional Test

OK, you got me, I'll be calling the local elementary school to see if there's any openings in kindergarden... so I can go back. :roflmao Thanks for the early AM laugh!

Anyone using the 7.3 coolant filter kit from Bob Riley...

As usual, I did it different I did a modified FMT install  You can look at the pics here which is pretty much the same place, but you'll notice I crammed a Premo in there :thumbs anyway, I ordered 4 extra filters from Bob in anticipation of clogature (is that a word  ) anyway...
