DIY Injector Teardown/Assembly for the Hardy (or is it foolhardy)
Just a little project I did recently. No mods yet, just learning to tear one down and reassemble. Neat pics of the innards if nothing else. I'm doing one from my truck this weekend to evaluate for WVO damage. Will post results/pics in the Bio Forum. HEUI Teardown and Assembly- JOAT

Safe Question
Heat helps, but a lamp burns out. There is a heater made for that purpose, I think it's sometimes called a goldenrod. Otherwise you can get boxes of re-usable dessicant. When they absorb enough water, they change color, then you thro them in the oven to recharge. Heres a couple possibilities...- JOAT

Yeah, it wouldn't take much to spiff it up. Even just some wrinkle paint. Down under the dash no one gives it a second look though till I tell them it's just 2" ABS (BTW the state of CA made it illegal for Dealers to sell the matching spray paints due to voc, tho you can buy spray paint at any...- JOAT

FPR Shim
I agree, plus you can modify the screw to change pressure, the BB you get what you get. Eventually I'll finish up the adjustable FPR MOD I started working on when doing my WVO conversion. Will post DIY for it if/when I'm happy with it. An SDD exclusive;)- JOAT

Fuel Bowl
Some remove the FPR screen and have no problems. It covers the return to tank orifice, so main concern with it off is potential clogging of that orifice. Same issues then as with the FPR clogged; air doesn't purge back to tank so you get misc issues as air hits the injectors.- JOAT

Fuel Bowl
The FPR screen is in the hole at the top of the bowl, drivers side. About half way down is the thermostat and connector for the fuel heater. Below that is probably the cone you're talking about. It's the water in fuel sensor probe. Clean the bowl really well and line the bottom with JB weld...- JOAT

Fuel pump replacement
Just want to emphasize don't let the fuel pump follower fall into the engine. Safest to loosen the bolts then rotate the engine till it pushes the pump up. As to the left hand thread, Only thing I can think of is you're refering to the standpipe inside the filter housing? If so, I think it is...- JOAT

The fuel heater is there to help prevent wax or gelling of fuel clogging the filter in cold weather. Won't affect smoke levels and as long as you use the appropriate fuel and additives for the temps you see you probably won't miss the fuel heater. I improvised a heavy duty fuel heater in my...- JOAT
