    My 2000 X just started doing this. I also started to hear a rattle when I closed one of the passenger doors. I pulled the panel and found the bottom bolt was loose. Tightened it up... Golden! :)

    code for door keypad

    I couldn't find mine, so 50 bucks is pretty reasonable. If you do have to take it to the dealer and need another key cut ask them if they'll include it with extracting the code. My dealer through in the code find when I had two keys cut I supplied and coded for the $100. Good luck :)

    Is tagged or stamped somewhere telling you if you even have one? I bought my X preowned and the dealer didn't know and I have yet to find any other indicators. Oh, and when I get the Banks installed if push comes to shove I'll try the rubber line method. %)
