    Lift & MPG

Mods on my 07 cc/sb fx4.... zoodad, 4" magnaflow turbo back (kitty ran off :dunno ) 35x12.50 procomp Xtreme AT's on the factory 20" wheels. 4" skyjacker kit. I guess I really need to forget about the lieometer and do it by hand. but it's hard that way b/c the pumps don't let me "fill up"...

    Got tires force balanced

I've also used Centramatic wheel balancers before on my old Yoter w/ 35" MT's. One thing that I can't understand with the Equal type balancing types, is why when on a spin balancer does it read out of balance? Would it work on a force balancer?

    Lift & MPG

trying to figure out why my MPG's suck so bad. at 70-75 I can't average more than 17.5mpg (based on the digital gauge). my MPG's have gone down quite a bit lately.... Lifted, stock tires & wheels I'd average damn good. put the 35's on... went to heck in a hand basket. didn't think 35x12.50...

    Lift & MPG

Does anyone know what a 4" lift would do to MPG's on the hwy? How much decrease are we talking. I have a 4" lift and 35x12.50 AT's on factory 20's on my '07 crew cab and I'm only getting 17-17.5 at 70-75mph. Debating droping the lift, b/c i really don't need it to clear these 35's on factory...

    Got tires force balanced

Had my wheels force balanced on a hunter 9700 today at a Ford Quick lane. I can't tell you guys how happy I am! :D I had my 35" AT Procomps put on at 4wheel parts about 2wks ago and the whole truck vibrated like a mofo, wrong weights etc. These guys at quicklane got it done. they used...

Driveline Angles way off; need shims

the front U-joint operating angle is about 2-3*. the center carrier operating angle is 0-.5*, the rear U-joint op angle is 2-3*. All have plenty of angle to keep lubed up. either way, the pinion is NOT supposed to be pointed up 4* more than the tcase:rant

Driveline Angles way off; need shims

Checked my driveline angles today. I have a 4" skyjacker lift. I used a procomp carrier shim kit, b/c it allowed me to select in 1/16" incriments how much I needed. I'm running 7/8" of carrier bearing shim, which is PERFECT. the 2pc driveshaft is 0-.5*; as close to straight as you're going to...

35x12.50 ProComp Xtreme AT's are on!

a little bit on the edges won't hurt... I'm going to say aprrox 1/4" or 3/8". It's when you have 2" or 3" of unworn paint on each edge...

35x12.50 ProComp Xtreme AT's are on!

I used Whiteout. paint a line from edge to edge. Drive around for about 1-2 miles and then look at the pattern. See how close to the edge the tire is wearing.

35x12.50 ProComp Xtreme AT's are on!

Update on the tire pressure for running on stock rims. 55psi cold is perfect for the front. I tried 40psi cold in the rear today.... that was the ticket. 55/40. Quite a difference in pressure from front to rear, but the proof is in the wear pattern. I'm betting it has to do with the fact the...

35x12.50 ProComp Xtreme AT's are on!

I tried the front at 50, and the rear at 45 (cold) today. Drove about 15 miles and then checked them when I got there. The rear pattern was still not 100%evenly wearing, but MUCH better than when at 50 yesterday, so I'm going to leave the rear at 45psi cold. I checked the pressure on them hot...

35x12.50 ProComp Xtreme AT's are on!

crumm- Sounds good. I was just worried about going below 50psi. But like you said, unloaded & narrow wheels (8.5" wide wheel with 12.50 tire), just remember to air up when loading. I'm going to try 45 in the rear today. See what kind of pattern that gives me.

35x12.50 ProComp Xtreme AT's are on!

Had them put on yesterday. Kept my factory 20" wheels. the tires measure 33.5" tall on the truck... pretty much the same height as the OEM Goodyears; maybe a 1/2" difference or less. So far I like the tires a lot. Very quiet, deep treads, siping and E range. 40K warranty also :sweet I...

I rather just go to the parts house, and see the filter before I buy it for $15. I only drive about 12-15K/yr. so about 3 oil changes per year. not bad.

Oil filters -Purolator is on track now

went out today to Wally world and AAP, and Pep boys to look at 6.0 oil filters. See all what people have. -Walmart is selling Motorcrafts but the part # ends in "B" not A. Going for just under or around $20. Not sure what the A/B difference is. Fram is now selling a clone of the motorcraft...

    Running Boards Hang low- Raise'm?

I've seen a few SD's on the net with what looks to be factory chrome running boards, but they are tucked up near the body more vs the OEMs ones I have that hang like 6" down. IS there a way with different brackets to rais them a few inches?

    Tire Help

I'm not sure what they are saying about the wear, and extra weight... The bigger tire will have less PSI, forces acting on it, than the skinnier tire. so it should wear... less I'd think.

Tires & wheels for 4" lift

Looks like I'm going to give the ProComp Xtreme AT's a shot. 35x12.50's on the factory 20x8.5's. However, the only thing I noticed might be an issue is the mud flaps on the front. I do NOT have 2 tone paint, or wheel moldings. I went ahead and bought the molded "FORD" factory mud flaps for the...

Tires & wheels for 4" lift

thanks for the replies guys. I checked in on the 35x12.50 Procomp Xtrme ATs and they call for a 8.5"-11" rim. I think when i'm ready I will get them mounted on my factory 20's, and see how that looks/works. If need be I will get wider wheels at that time. I used to have 15x10 wheels with...

Ok guys, I have a 4" lift on my '07. Currently on factory (20's x 8.5?) and looking to up my tire size. Looking for a 35x12.50. Pretty sure I'm going with the Procomp Xtrme A/T. Debating putting them on my factory wheels. what do you guys think? Will the tires be to wide for the factory wheels...

Just want to make a statement, exhaust

I went with a 4" turbo back Magnaflow kit. Came witht he parts/hardware to run Cat or no cat. and can be switched out if need be... ie warranty. I kept my stock downpipe, Cat, and pipe after the cat incase "need be" situtations. So the stock tail pipe section is trashed. I started by...
