    Extra's

A thing about this, our county fair this year started requiring all campers/RVs to have a 30AMP extension cord, even the old ones that didn't have 30amp service. Apparently, this is a new trend that is spreading.

What do you think about this one?

A friend of mine snapped the front axle on his GMC 2500HD. He was 500 miles from home, two months out of warranty, but under the mileage for warranty. When he was refused the warranty he called his dealership. Their warranty rep said to get on tape why they wouldn't cover it. When he played...

Timbren, Firestone, or Air Lift Airbags

I guess I could update this thread. I decided to go with the Firestones from Summit Racing. Ordered them the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and had them on the doorstep by 10AM Wednesday. Took most of the afternoon on Thanksgiving to get them in. I ended up having to modify the bottom brackets...

    Worst Road Trip Ever

Something similar happened to us this past summer. 95 Chevy crew cab dually towing a 30' enclosed trailer with two mini rod pulling tractors inside. On 127 north of Hudson, Michigan the outside wheel bearing on the rear driver's side seized. The hub and dual assembly walked right off the end...

    more exhaust questions

Back pressure will actually slow your turbo down and create less boost. With a diesel, you want less backpressure. My 7.3 runs a lot better with 3.5" downpipe into a 4" straight pipe than it did with the muffler in place (truck never had a cat).

Timbren, Firestone, or Air Lift Airbags

I've decided to get a set of airbags for the rear of my truck. Which set is the best value? I'm kinda on a budget and had my mind set on the Firestones, but then I saw the price of the Timbrens. Now I'm starting to second guess myself because the money I'd save with the Timbrens can go...

    Best chip for 7.3

I'm running the SCT Xcal2 with the standard SCT tunes. They are the only tunes I have ran on my truck other than stock. I like them a lot, but I'm thinking about getting the 80Econo from DP Tuner just to see how I like that.

    Overhaulin'

It all depends on how classic the car really is. If it's just a run of the mill car, it's not so bad. If it has a lot of special features and is a rare car then it should not be anything other than stock.

    4" exhaust

I have the AFE system. I think the 3.5" to 4" transition adds quite a bit of in cab noise. The transition happens halfway down the downpipe. It's either that, or the my cab itself is a lot louder than my brother's 2002. My cousin's 2002 isn't as loud as mine inside either. They both have...

    fuel milage

My 2wd 6sp has been around 18 mpg or so. I haven't taken the time to actually calculate the average over the past year that I have owned the truck. I have it all recorded, just have gotten the time to put it in the comp.

    Rock and a hard place

You have a paying job and are scheduled to work. The fact that you are working for your girlfriend's dad is irrelevant. Your dad should understand.

    Smoke Please

With my SCT I can get a lot of smoke by lugging the motor (6sp). As soon as the turbo spools it's gone, and so am I.

    Boat Problems

Oldsmobile or Chevy engine? If it's an Oldsmobile, check out www.realoldspower.com. I'm guessing Chevy motor if it's an 85 smallblock. Have you refilled the gas tank or are you still running the tank with the Stabil in it? Best way to check for manifold leaks is to take starter fluid and...

    Replacing Starter

The starter on my dad's truck (95 F250 14x,xxx miles) finally went out tonight. I'm going to replace it tomorrow and was wondering if anybody had any tips, tricks, suggestions or cautions. The motor is a 5.8L gasser. Thanks.

    Big-Block gas engine options.

Now that sounds like something to power a boat. I know of quite a few guys running 455 Oldsmobiles in jet boats. Your best bet if you're set on a Ford is to find an old 460 and a good shop that knows Fords. A bore and stroke job will really wake them up. Or you could always try to put a...

4X4 Light comes on when driving

It might not be vaccuum related. My 4x4 light comes on at times and I only have a 2WD :dunno I'm thinking mine is something electrical in nature. Could be the same problem.

    Silent

I hate quiet engines, gas or diesel. I want a motor that I know is running so if somebody borrows it there's no excuse if they hit the starter after it's already started. I've seen a few people try starting their vehicle because they didn't know it was running. I don't have that problem.

    KITTENS

My humane suggestion is to just toss it across the room. Every time it comes back, toss it a little bit harder. It'll eventually get the message. Otherwise, take it out into the garage with you when you change the coolant in your truck. Just don't let your girlfriend see the marshmallows...

    Making a square hole

If it's really thin plastic, why not just use a razor knife? As long as you can hold it steady and not let it slip past your corner.

    Programmer or Chip?

You can get a custom program written and put onto the SCT. That is probably the safest bet, and I don't see why that route would lead to blown headgaskets if you pick the right person to write the tune. You say you would like to quickly change between programs. The Banks Six Gun will...

That wasn't a turbo charged Regal GS was it? If so, I'm sad to see that happen. Those are awesome cars (for cars anyways).

    Hockey's Over

You really shouldn't judge hockey until you see a college (Division I) game live in person. I love hockey and have all my life. I spent 7 years working for a college team and it was a great experience (I started when I was 11). All that being said, the NHL has become a complete joke. The...

    Protecting a Sticker

It has already been laminated. I just didn't want the ink to fade. It's a memorial sticker for an older friend of mine. He passed away suddenly in January of a heart attack. He was an OTR driver, an anouncer for the NTPA and OSTPA, as well as a long-time mini rod puller. He recently...
