    Where is the Computer?

I just ordered a new flip chip from DP tuners. I know what your thinking already... "you needed to give Jody the code off your PCM to order the chip" Well per their advice I got a new PMT1 computer as it is supposed to work better than my early '99 one. So needless to say, I haven't accessed...

    AIH delete

I did a search on this but couldn't find anything. I read a while ago that a plug can be purchased for this, and I believe it was an oil drain plug from a Dodge Cummins Diesel. Also where is the AIH located? Is it the center port on the intake Y with the wires going to it? Bill

    Removing intercooler

I did the CCV mod this morning, and am planning on removing the intercooler and cleaning it out along with all the boots. How do you go about doing this? Does the radiator need to be removed? Just looking at it, the drivers side of the rad looks clear, however the pass side has some AC lines...

    WHO'S GOT THE MOST MILES?

I just clicked over 320,000 this last weekend. Had 1 tranny replaced a 265K, motor is still all stock, and thats about to change. I'm adding the CCV mod, and cleaning out the intercooler and boots, plan on a DP chip soon. Got my 5" exhuast in the garage waiting to install. No problems with...

To muffle or not to muffle, that is the question!

I'm looking to get a new exhaust for my truck. I was looking to get a 5" system off ebay. It has the option of getting a straight pipe for $25 off the price. I was wondering how loud a diesel would be without a muffler. Looking for some input from some board members. Also I have a early 99...

    Power when Towing

I changed the fuel filter with no obvious change in power. whatabudro, you are correct, it still has the ccv in the stock location and the intercooler hoses are covered in oil and grime. Does this hide a leak, or an indication of one? CCV mod is planned for the very near future, as well as...

    Power when Towing

Oh jeez... here we go, I'll try to get all the answers :sweet Towing in OD, auto 4R100 Tranny, travel trailer weight about 8000 lbs. I used to pull this with a Chevy 3/4 ton van with a 350 throttle body injection... not real fun (always towed in drive not OD with this). The slight grade I...

    Power when Towing

I was wondering about the power the PSD has when towing. I have a 28 ft TT, and was towing it to the dealer to have some work done on it. This was it's first tow with the "new" truck. Going up a slight, very slight grade, I had to almost floor it to stay at 73-74. Now I usually don't tow...

    What do you guy's think?

Do our trucks have a place to check pressure with a fuel press gauge (like a schrader valve?)

    Torque Converter lockup

I was wondering what controls the TC lockup feature, is it the ECM or is it controlled in the transmission? I have had an issue with my truck with the converter locking while I'm accelerating on either the 1-2 shift or the 2-3 shift. This is just normal driving not WOT or anything. I was...

    Manual to Power mirrors

    Manual to Power mirrors

I'm thinking of upgrading my 99 mirrors to the telescoping Tow mirrors. I'd really like to have power mirrors, as it isn't feasable to keep sliding over to adjust mirrors everytime the wife gets in and drives. I currently don't have power mirrrors, but was wondering if the wire harness is in...

    CCV observation.

I agree with you, but there still is no pressure from the motion of the pistons. some wind maybe but thats it. In order for pressure to be building in the crankcase there would have to be a volume change, and because each piston has a "sister" doing EXACTLY the opposite thing, there is no...

    CCV observation.

Yeah, but in a V8 for every up stroke there is an identical piston doing the exact opposite thing negating any pressure buildup :sweet

    CCV observation.

The last time I had that kind of crankcase pressure, I had a broken ringland on one of my pistons (350 chevy) Is it normal to have that kind of blow-by in a good diesel motor?

    Limited Slip Diff?

I found a clutch rebuild kit P/N F75Z4947AB. It can be purchased at http://www.parts.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=searchCatalogOEM&siteid=213787 $89.00 is not bad at all!

Where can you get the rebuild kit?

    Limited Slip Diff?

So the factory posi is rebuildable? I have the one wheel peal action going on with mine, but it's over 300K miles on it, I'm sure the clutches are long gone. As for size, what kind of rear ends do we have? I'm not all that familiar with fords. Bill

    Service manual?

I was wondering what is available for a service manual for these trucks. Do you have to purchase a factory one, or are there any hanes or chiltons manuals available for the diesels? Thanks Bill

    Gas in Diesel?

Ha ha, actually I think my brothers E350 with a non-Turbo IHI 7.3 pulls harder than my truck. I really need to get rid of that Cat converter and free up the exhaust.

    Smoke Program

It would be used sparingly for "those special occasions". No I wouldn't want to run around all day billowing clouds of smoke around. I have just grown fond of Tractor Pulls seeing the towers of black coming from those machines. I appologize for being an idiot
