    Cant find vibration

Not to be a dummy, but could it be a single out of balance wheel? You have new tires, but have you had their balance double checked just to rule it out? My OEM wheels throw weights once in a while and I get a great vibration at some speeds around 65, 72 and 80+; and for whatever reason not as...

    Front differential fluid additive?

I am changing out the front differential fluid. Mobil 1 synthetic was $9/quart, whereas Royal Purple was $18-$20/quart at 2 different stores this weekend (both 75w90). So I bought the Mobil 1. Do I need a friction additive like in the rear differential?

    Super Duty Brake Rotors

My calipers are rough and I will need to replace at least one. Who's are a good value, OEM, Napa, Autozone, etc? Also, if one is shot and one is just rusted up but functional is there much value to replacing it anyhow? The pins are especially bad, I guess salt sets in their during the winter and...

    ATS housing vs WW

There's a decent write-up on the Diesel Site website FAQ. It's his (Bob's) opinion, but he lays it out pretty well. The answer to your question probably depends on how hard you are using your engine? :dunno I don't think the turbine wheel has much to do with turbo "failure"; but maybe I don't...

    TW Tunes??

Yeah, X3! It is my next planned upgrade (don't ask about unplanned upgrades), and I am totally confused by all these program names. I just wanna good daily driver for economy, something for 7-10k towing, and something with a bit of kick...

    Cold air intake

You're not crazy. :D But an upgraded system should also do as good or better job of filtration as OEM, and it should do it with less flow restriction. That way the turbine is moving max air into the engine. I sprung for an AFE II with PG7 filter a a few years ago, and what is nice about it is...

    emissions article FYI

nice brief update on tier4 stuff: Diesel Engine Manufacturers Rely On New Technology To Meet Emission Standards. Engineer Live (3/12, Franz) reports that "compliance with increasingly strict exhaust emissions standards is one of the biggest challenges facing diesel engine manufacturers," which...

    Rear sway bar?

Dave - not sure if you're asking me or 02stroker, but I have around 106k, and just as he writes, my endlink bushings, especially the bottom ones are mushed out. I ordered the black energy suspension kit since it is graphite impregnated. Haven't arrived yet. '02stroker, their site says that...

    sodium in oil?

I mispoke....it is full synthetic oil, if it matters? It may be cheapie oil (hell it *is* fleet farm!) dpantazis -- don't know the threshold, but the number (94) exceeds previous readings by a wide margin, as in 1,2,3 or 4 in previous testing. On changing the oil this afternoon, I got to...

    sodium in oil?

Latest Blackstone oil analysis report came back with 94 ppm sodium on semi-synthetic oil with about 1500 miles on it. I've been doing lots of cold weather idling and not always getting it up to full 200 *F temperature before shutdown. The lab says: Note sodium. This is an unusual find in the...

    Rear sway bar?

Thanks guys. How come you replaced twice!! The snow plow? Any thoughts to the relative worth of adding the rear bar?

    Rear sway bar?

This may be a dumb question...but did '02 Superduties come with rear sway bars as an option? My endlink bushings upfront are shot and I've been looking around for what all to replace. I see in the energysuspension catalog (energysuspension.com | Products) that they list a "Sway Bar Bushing...

    Brake Rotor recommendations

I'm ready for a brake job and turned the rear rotors smoothing out warps and rust over the years that I guess they're about due to be replaced. Not sure about front rotors although the pads are about gone, and sooner or later they'll need changing too. I've been reasonably satisfied with the...

    Electrical Help

What's the symptom of having #32 fuse circuit w/o power? How'd you notice? Does your LED switch light when on, and does the subwOOfer have power now?

    Electrical Help

Console looks nice! Your switch terminology has me a bit confused, and the ACC circuit's function, too. I'm a dummy about audio, but I guess "remote" and "acc" is the same in this application...? Anyhow...if it is 3-pole switch then you should be able to simultaneously switch 3 different...

Question What did you do to your truck today?

Winter Cover pix Here's my Alaska Tent & Tarp winter cover. Got the bug screen too. Might add 2 more snaps on top. Sorry for the dirty looking truck, I've had to actually use it a lot lately! With the cover in place and the temps about 10F this afternoon, it got to full temperature (203F)...

    Alternator Rebuild Kits??

I agree...although not sure that the added 'heavy duty' rectifier justifies the difference in price! I really do like the idea of improved lower rpm charge capability.

    SD Dash quit working

maybe? You might want to check this thread. Maybe the problem is in the wiring to the OD switch. The only difference for me was my throttle also wouldn't work, and it was Fuse #45 IIRC that kept blowing from the dead short. Good luck!

Follow-up: AIC install Wow, it got cold while I was gone the last 2 weeks!!! (we were in summer time Brazil) The AIC bought off ebay arrived. Got it working and really like the auto-idle ramp up feature when I set the brake. If anybody has installed one I'd appreciate feedback on...

Help Needed Hi Idle '02 7.3L

Hi all, it's a beautiful day (55 in November WOW!) and I thought I'd get to the hi-idle circuit I've been meaning to do ever since I lost my EPPV in an exhaust "upgrade"...and am stumped on what to do next. I followed the wiki on this site, which is for a 6L but in it is a link for an 03 7.3L...
