    Turbo Master Wastegate Controller Question

I put the TM Waste Gate controller on when I replaced my turbo and added a Wicked Wheel last winter. I have it adjusted to give me 26 psi max, according to my gauge. I wanted it low enough to not throw a code but as high as practical, given that I don't have a chip (yet). I think it's a...

    replacing front lights with clip...

On my '02, the 2 clips are a pain to get out. I just yanked 'em finally and rebent them into original shape after. They go back in very easy, to make up for the challenge of removal... To remove the headlamp assembly, if that's what you're doing, you then need to depress the tangs on the posts...

    warn hubs

I had 2 Warn hubs mounted by a shop (replaced my busted auto hub) in 2007. The invoice shows only "2 4wd locking hubs $330". No mention of any kit. Sorry I don't have better records about the conversion kit but it doesn't appear it was needed on my '02. They are not the Premium hubs, based on...

    Question Alternator output

Thanks guys... Where's the regulator on this beast? 1/2 V jump is curiously large. But I won't worryaboutit too much.:sweet

    Question Alternator output

Just back from latest trip, up to Des Moines and back. Clicked over the 100k mark on the way up. And first nice road trip with my gauges too, that was enjoyable. :sweet My question is the alternator voltage...my radar detector can show voltage at the cigarette lighter and I have noticed that...

    rant my Exxon Valdez

Every time I hang out down there, and watch for him, the gremlin is not there. But I know he exists...the stains in my garage and on my drive are proof.

Great writeup! Can it be put into the Wiki?

    Gauge pod

On mine, the new one goes over the old one. you drill 4 holes, 2 to a side thru both old and new. You cut holes in the original where the pods are on the new one for wiring. You put the old one in first, pulling wiring as needed. You put the new on on, line up the holes and use plastic fasteners...

    '04 sd 6.0 no start

I'm no expert, esp. on 6.0 engine. But what about your fuel quality/level? It fires with some starter fluid but not just cranking...maybe you got a slug of bad fuel/water. Have you drained the filter (be sure to capture the fuel and inspect it)? In your very first post you mentioned fuel tank...

    Oil consumption Big Time!

Like DaveBen says...it could be Crank Case Ventilation So I'd first disconnect your CCV line and run it straight to the ground or out back and see how much oil your engine is pushing out the topside. I doubt that is the culprit, but it could be and that is not a good thing. It means that lotsa...

Question Pyro: tap manifold or pipe?

Ok -- finally got 'er done. This has been dragging along way too long. Fortunately it rained this afternoon or I'd have been planting trees etc. Got coolant temp hooked up too. The tapping was pretty easy, though the cheap chinese tap I used looks like it may not be good for another hole...

Question Pyro: tap manifold or pipe?

I'm all set to drill /tap my pyro. From the bottom I can reach the exhaust manifold (sort of rusty) and the exhaust up-pipe (surprisingly clean). Is one better than the other? Only a couple of inches difference. Nice picture from Diesel Manor here that explains the choice -- and recommends the...

No problem here except occasionally a postal driver won't take the sample and I have to take it to the Post Office directly. I use the prepaid USPS labels.

    quickie coolant question

And...since you have a coolant filter don't fret about the slightly too high SCA readings. They'll get caught. If you drive continuous high rpm then pay more attention (use more strips).

    Headlight replacement?

Wayne - it was the passenger side. It is still out awaiting a new HID bi-xenon bulb...much easier to put in with headlamp in hand. Big Joe -- I have stared at them now and am still waiting for inspiration! Or enlightenment, call me 'grasshopper'.
