Installed V Code & B Code Springs, HOORAY!

Yep Chris & tfalk, 1 1/2 inches in front with V's & by adding a 4 inch block in the rear, you remove the stock 2 inch block. This will effectively raise the rear 2 inches. Fully unloaded the X would sit with an additional 1/2 of rake to the front with stock springs. The B Codes raise the...

Installed V Code & B Code Springs, HOORAY!

Houndog, True the springs may sag, but I just have come to the conclusion that U Codes would be closer to what I was looking for (slight rake to the front). I believe I said "perfect" in a previous post. Ford should build them with U's and B's. I went to B's for improved ride in the back...

Installed V Code & B Code Springs, HOORAY!

Sure, springs swap straight out. Rear blocks don't need to be exchanged & you should be able to reuse all U Bolts. U Codes in front & B Codes in rear would be my choice if I did it again. That would be level, ride would be great & it would be the best bang for the buck (least amount of...

    mileage

Nope, that's a duramax life expectancy, ours go 300,000 to 500,000. The new 6.0 has seen some high numbers for IH, we'll see how that translates for the trucks. They are cast iron like the 7.3.

    Rancho shock deals?

I paid around $385 for mine at local Checkers auto parts store. Their warranty policies are great to deal with. Bring in shock and they hand you new one, no hassles. (just call before you arrive at store to have inventory checked, if the shock is out of stock, they can generally have it next...

Taking the Dynatrac Hub Conversation Leap!!

Price on the kit? So you have over 250,000 miles, how's the truck holding up overall. I intend to take mine as far it will go or once parts become obsolete and unreasonably expensive. (actually some parts are too pricey now, but they do have us over a barrel)

    Lighter pedal spring mod

The power pedal mod was a mod to increase responsiveness. It removed the delay that some have when pushing down on the accelerator from a stop. It was popular on 99 trucks. The pedals have been changed or updated some since 99. The spring mod was something I didn't think anyone would...

    Lighter pedal spring mod

Something I did awhile back, yet haven't shared with anyone is the removal of one of the return springs on the fuel pedal. It has 2 and really only needs 1. My Dad would complain how heavy the springs on the fuel pedal were on a trip. I noticed the extra effort once I bought the superduty's...

Installed V Code & B Code Springs, HOORAY!

Here's more Motionman info, In the back I used a chevy 4" block, I have air bags and they were still within the limit of axle/ frame distance by 1" These don't have the ears on them so the bags were installed better. I didn't add a leaf in the rear. I tried the ford 4" but it is not tappered...

    Roof Racks

I'd be interested in a larger rack like the one in the 2nd pic. Only could have used it a few times.

Installed V Code & B Code Springs, HOORAY!

Ok Bill, here's MotionMan's responce. "What i did was take F350 V codes and added an add-a-leaf for a total of 3"s. The F350 springs were free from a take off, the add-a-leafs were $99. They are tough country soft ride. Thats how I did it and it has held up for over 60K, no sag at all." Good...

    Connecting Rods

There are some cases in 01's where they ran out of PMR's and installed forged rods after the date, but it's rare. PMR's are in all Powerstrokes after 2001 to current.

Installed V Code & B Code Springs, HOORAY!

285/75-16 They don 't have the rock solid handling of 265/75-16E's but they look good, ride nice and handle fine.

Installed V Code & B Code Springs, HOORAY!

Ok, here's the conclusion I have came up with as far as Spring/Block combinations when buying all new springs & installing Air Bags. The Ride Rite Air Bags installed easy & do raise up the rear about 1/2 an inch with the minimum pressure of 5psi. The Bags do stiffen up the rear slightly...

Installed V Code & B Code Springs, HOORAY!

Bill, it's a positive attitude like yours that will determine the success of this site. :thumbs The front Rancho's were oringinally designed for the V Codes that come standard on the F350's and most F250's. (The stock X just sits lower in the stroke of the shock) Installing V Codes on...

Installed V Code & B Code Springs, HOORAY!

What's the price differences between add a leaf, mini spring Pack & X Codes? 2nd question I'd have are spring rates on the mini spring pack and Add a Leafs. Personally, I'm going for quality of ride & towability. Ride height is last on my list of importance, but obviously they all go hand...

    Ford Parts on Ebay

Yep, I know exactly what your saying. I purchased a CPS for $35 on Ebay & then felt guilty because the more I thought about it, it could have been stolen. The guy was selling tons of CPS's. Could have been a guy working in a Ford dealership parts dept orderng them and selling them online. I...

Installed V Code & B Code Springs, HOORAY!

I think the springs retail for around $200 a piece. The dealer sold all 4 for $600. The Shocks were $89 a piece for the fronts & $98 a piece for the rears. The Ride Rite's Air Bags were $225 for the set.

    Door Seal= Road/Wind noise fix

Do you guys have a Lowe's, just picked up the 3/8OD,1/4ID clear vinyl tubing for 20 cents a foot, I couldn't remember how much to get, so I picked up 25 feet for $5. Did I not buy enough to do all the doors?

    What is this part for?!?!?!?

I ordered two of them for my F250. Figured it wouldn't hurt if they made the truck smoother. Haven't installed them yet, the front one is updated and different than the original one installed on the X from the factory. The new one is little different mount & is going to require more intensive...

    Fuel Capacity

My Harpoon experience is they fill to the top and then click off. Difficult to squeeze a half of a gallon in to end on an even dollar amount. My 29 gallon tank on the F250 is now a 34. I routinely run tank down to an 1/8th tank and refill with 29 gallons of fuel. Tank used to stop at 24/25...
