A real BIG thanks to Hoss and Budro

Well, since I remember you being so horribly sympathetic to my plight when it happened to me, that I am going to take a minute to feel sorry for you, okay, that's enough. :roflmao :roflmao :haha :haha Merry christmas, old man!

Parallel Turbos Almost Ready for Testing

Good enough for me!!! :sweet I think it is great that you are giving it a shot, I'm excited to see what heppens, and like I said, i applaud your ability and willingness to try it, even amongst what I'm sure has been a lot of negative opinion. Your setup looks sweet. Very nicely done....

Parallel Turbos Almost Ready for Testing

For the purposes of your induction system, you are basically running two 222 cubic inch 4 cylinder engines (i.e., each turbo is fed by 222 cubic inches of engine) which means that your turbo housings need to be small. On the order of how small they would be on a 222 cubic inch 4-cylinder...

    Help with uvc harness

You do, Budro, so much so that I've decided to fund your raise out of MY OWN POCKET!!! I think your current level of involvement with this website warrants a 15% raise, at least... So lets see, 15% of $0.... Congrats, Budro, you're now making 15% more of NOTHING than you were previously...

EPA regulation mixing motor oil with diesel fuel

It isn't supposed to be to dillute fuel and save money. Lots of OTR rigs have a setup that sends crankcase oil intot he fuel system, which serves several purposes. 1.) YOu continue adding clean crack oil to the crankcase at every stop, therefore dilluting contaminants and extending change...

    uhh ohhh!!! white smoke!

GASP!! 20 DEGREES???!!!  ;) Mein Gott! Now, is that 20 degrees fahrenheit, or 20 degrees celsius? :roflmao It was -8 here the other day, -20 with the wind chill. Now, I know that Crumm is going to get on here and mock ME about temperatures, but I just had...

    Snow Towing

Well, I HAVE seen guys chain trailers. Up here in the blustery North, when the passes have snow on them 6 months out of the year, commerce would shut down if no one towed in the snow. I do it all the time. It really isn't a big deal. I've spent a lot of hours towing big stuff in icy, snowy...

    uhh ohhh!!! white smoke!

  if that isn't incentive to shut 'er down, I'm not sure what is! So, I'm curious, at what point in time do we all stop buying insurance, due to the fact that there are so many exclusions in the plan that it only insures space alien ship-on-car collisions (not space alien attacks...

    uhh ohhh!!! white smoke!

My HO, you get out of it, shut it off. You're just wasting diesel and saving nothing. Leaving it idle for 30 to 40 minutes is not good. It will damage things if done enough.

    Sticky Steering

I think I can adjust the sloppiness out of it, or replace the steering box all together, but I can't figure out what is causing the "sticky" feeling. Maybe it won't feel so bad once I adjust it so that I don't have to turn the wheel 2" every time I need to make an adjustment in heading....

    Sticky Steering

I couldn't tell you, since my truck doesn't have one.... :D Which is a problem all it's own, I've been meaning to install one for a while, it sucks when you hit a bridge approach or railroad and the truck shimmies all over the place..... My truck seems to be missing a couple parts...

    Sticky Steering

Fluid flush? :roflmao When the clutch went out, I pushed it for a long time, and used the steering without the engine running. Fluid overflowed everywhere. I topped it back off with new fluid. Does that count? :D Seriously, though, I am not convinced that the PS pump is in any good...

    Sticky Steering

My 99 F-350 in the sig line has VERY stiff, sticky feeling steering. It doesn't want to steer itself back to straight line when steering adjustments are made. This makes it necessary to be CONSTANTLY adjusting heading while driving. It is horrible. To top it off, I have a LOT of slop in the...

    Do I have a problem?

My guess is that you have bad vacuum lines to your hubs. Thank goodness that Ford supplied mannual override locking hubs on your truck, huh? The vacuum lines to the hubs are not an uncommon fix. They go bad quite often. One way to check (but is not a tell-all diagnosis) is to see if the...

    Worst Stuck......

That would have to be in High School when i pulled my 2wd ranger off to the side of an abandoned grange building for some hanky-panky with an old girlfriend. Got stuck on the lawn of the grange. I could not get out, even after i tried pushing with her driving. The next door neighbor to...

Help to put in Laymens terms

There are several reasons above and beyond what was mentioned. 1.) Efficiency. This one was already mentioned in a way, in the form of parasitic loss, etc, but I will put it into even more layman terms. Supers take horsepower to drive them. They result in a net increase in horsepower, but...

    Waste gate

What you are describing is turbo stall. It is normal, and it is not what blew out your seal (totally unrelated). Don't worry about it, keep mashing on it, you're not hurting a thing. Just so you know, the noise you are hearing is boost backwashing out the intake when you let off the...

Pulley rubbing/grinding on water pump housing

They ain't lying. That pulley rides on the water pump, which incorporates the bearing that went bad enough that the pulley was rubbing on the pump. That bearing goes bad, that pump is bad too.
