This is why I bought my F-350

I thought about that. It would have kinda killed any financial benefit from the home fuel savings, but the weight of those logs along with the roughness of the bark...That stuff wasn't going ANYWHERE...regards and thanks for the comment on the truck. They are kinda purrtty (thanks to...

This is why I bought my F-350

I knew THAT! I was just funnin' back. Lots of my friends think its funny. Do you think I could make my first million with my patent (pending) bed mat?!?!:dizzy

This is why I bought my F-350

Do you like it? It makes the load ride quieter, protects the bed liner; makes clean-up easier; its cheap and replaceable; and for single guys or girls it can be a real boon for those last minute arrangements... Maybe I should advertise it here?:dizzy

This is why I bought my F-350

Thanks, bud. You really can't see the dirt in these pics. It already has a couple of mars in the clearcoat from tree branches, but they will polish out this week-end. This truck LOVES to work!

This is why I bought my F-350

This load is Red Oak; White Oak; and a little Hickory mixed in. All green/fresh cut. My wild guess is this is somewhere over a real ton of weight. The truck never seemed to know the load was there! Its great! I Love this truck!

I am ready this year - bring it on

It was, at the same time very funny and kind of sad to see those people in such a panic. Even the state highway patrol was not driving any more than necessary..Just keeping the highways closed. 60 below? How does that truck even start?!? What do you do with the fuel? Kerosene? Are the...

I am ready this year - bring it on

I was in Mobile, Alabama several years ago when they got less than a dusting. There were some covered areas on the grass, the cars had about 1/2 in of sleet/frozen snow...etc. Nothing on the roads, The airport was closed. When it finally opened, there was a guy riding in the back of a...

Regular Penzoil 15w-40 after oil change

I presume you mean that they didn't give you the diesel rated oil? My understanding is that the difference is in the additives, mostly for soot suspension and control and to mitigate the fuel dilution inherent in most diesel engines as opposed to gas. I agree with the above post in that you...

    Weather stripping for my SD

I'm sorry to here that!! My GMC outside seems to be rather fond of me. It takes me almost everywhere I want to go and only gets ill occasionally. 208k miles and still hauling my sorry butt around and still plowing snow and hauling firewood when I need it. I decided to semi-retire it with my...

    Weather stripping for my SD

It actually does matter to me. I much prefer the original erquipment. Its just that GM stopped making the parts I needed for my 1994 GMC YUKON 6.5so I had to find something else;tu

    shakey ride

Ain't none of my business but, I have seen several posts on several sites about F-450's wandering and not tracking correctly.. Does this sound like your problem?

    Weather stripping for my SD

Try LMC truck parts or CLASSICTRUCKPARTS.com. I just bought a new outside mirror from LMC...prices seem average but service was very good. I think I saw weather stripping in their catalog, but I am not sure. Be aware: This is all aftermarket stuff with the associated risks...good luck...joe

    6.4L Block Heater

The plug/cord was right next to/behind the right recovery hook on the bumper. I had trouble even seeing it until one guy helped me find it. Look close before you spend $$ on the cord...Good luck...joe

    Emergency tool kit

AND A set of fuel filters (you've got to buy them anyway) and a 36mm socket and ratchet. NOTHING will stop you in your tracks quicker than a bad tank of fuel and clogged filter(s). Include a container to catch the whatever comes out of the water drain on the frame rail filter

    working on the 6.4

Depends on what you mean by "serious engine work". Most things beyond the simplest maintenance are " cab off" projects as I understand it.

    Superduty Question

I understand that this was due to a cracked fuel injector (read "TOO much fuel"). If the truck didn't have THAT particular issue, no flame-thrower. Sorry. I have a job 3 truck and I am VERY happy with it with 1800 miles on it. The fuel economy is approaching 14 with mixed, mostly moderate...

    mileage info

What I was referring to was especially rear end drive ratios, auto or manual, tire sizes..etc; some of the items that have the greatest impact on mpg. I see you now have that in your signature/profile..that's all. No slight intended.
