    Maybe he could rig a fuel pressure guage to it and drive it untill it fails, to rule out the fuel pump...... Or simply replace it again... Where did the pump come from?... I think the vacuum in the canister is from the injectors pulling the fuel out , & the pump is not filling the bowl...

    8-14 IPR dc% at idle would be more like it..You have an internal hp oil leak. Injector o rings or IPR orings....Or a loose.poppet screw ' or a worn poppet... I would definately clean the IPR at least , cheap test.... What are the differences At cold & hot idle?....

    If the oil is fairly new I would check the ICP & IPR DC% (oil hot)...You may have an IPR o ring or an injector O ring bad (or two)...Check the ICP sensor , look for oil leaking from the sensor.... Maybe boost leaks or map sensor prob too..... You'll need to do some testing.....

    Try grabbing the steering shaft under the hood in the middle & see if it moves up & down alot ...If so there is supposed to be a plastic type of a bushing in the slip joint that wears out,,, (much banging):rant
