    you can try a flush of the system first thats the cheaper way but it sounds like the pumps about to go. you cooler could be clogged and causing the fluid to boil. try flushing the system but make sure you go in reverse of the system flow to try and clear it out or have a radiator shop do it...

    i haven't seen one on 450 or smaller SD's but my 550 and my company's 450's and 550's all have them even are one 650 has one. they all look to be about a inch in diameter or maybe alittle bigger then that but they are large and might be over kill on a lighter duty truck.
